Hello, i own a browser racing game and have been struggling with the site SEO for quite some time. Finding the right keywords to start with hehe

Looking at the image below, how hard will it be to rank for the keyword "racing games"? my domain does not have those keywords in it, assuming i would optimize my on-site seo, outsource seo services here on the forums. I know a lot of factors are important for this and the question is vague because of that but i am wondering, should i even bother ranking for these?

Ya, that's a bitch man. You'll be competing with like, Forza and PGR, and they can't even get in the top 10. Even "free online racing games" is near impossible to rank for.

You need to have kick ass resources and some backup to do this...
How hard?
$6-7 K a month I presume...

yea that's a tough rub, you'll have to get creative and find new keywords or, shit... find a way to capitalize on this instant stuff?

I recommend digging a bit deeper into the "racing games" keywords and see if you can find some long tails.

People don't just search for "racing games". They search for many other things relating to "racing games" that could also generate you some money.

Horse Games?
Hund Games?
Animal Racing?
Browser Racing?

Use possibilities - Robotluv is right, you need go much deeper.

If I'm targeting a keyword, I always buy domains with the keywords in it. I actually started my business umpteen years ago when Amazon came out with AWS and had 1,000 or so sites built around book specific niches. fictonbooks.com , shopchildrensbooks.com etc....probably made over 100K with that.

Google eventually caught up with that AWS stuff, but still, I think these days having your keyword in the domain is important.

@colephoenix Agreed. It's still important today. I'm seeing parked KW domains (aged) with no content for years that are ranking very high in some niches.

you could resort to ppc, it doesn't hurt to try get ranked. If you use a diverse range of keywords you can get ranked for longtail searches.

Not impossible, but unlikely. Try to rank for a similar keyword that has way less competition. MNF is smart, if you get crosses next to SOC you can know it's going to be hard to rank that keyword high in serps.

thanks guys. My main doubt about this keyword was the sites ranking #1-10. Some dont seem that strong making me feel i could rank on first page easely. Is this very wrong?

Geez, read the replies again, what else do you want people to tell you??

The top 3 websites are very strong but if you have lots of money, you can get it done.

yeah have to agree micro niche finder helps a lot, I use it with traffic travis (which you can scheme a full licence which updates). Must be on the DNS list now cause I can't find it on this forum anymore.

It's going to be pretty tough; according to my trusty copy of MS (thanks BHW) The top 3 results (where the money is!) all have 100,000 or more backlinks to the page. Good luck!

possible only with a huge budget.but needless to say,it is not impossible.

Not going to happen, not unless you have a very big budget ($x,xxx a month) for serious outsourcing and software or a professional SEO team.
