I am interested in understanding how to measure whether a Quora account is genuinely becoming an authority with in a specific niche.

What are the key milestones or signals that showed your account was gaining recognition with in your niche and how did that impact your overall growth and opportunities?

For me, the biggest sign wasn't views or upvotes. It was when people started recognizing my name and engaging with multiple answers instead of just one. Things like repeat followers, users tagging me in questions, receiving answer requests on topics in my niche, and seeing older answers continue to get engagement months later were much stronger authority signals.

Another milestone is when your answers start ranking consistently near the top for niche related questions. At that point you're not just getting lucky with a few viral posts. You're building a reputation around a specific topic. In my experience, authority shows up first in the quality of engagement and only later in the numbers.

I noticed that one of the biggest signs that is when people start your name and actively seeking out your answer on specific topic. And other good signals that are include receiving consistent upvotes across multiple answers, getting tagged in question related to your niche.

I also noticed that as my authority grew, getting more direct messages from people who had read my answers. the traffic became more targeted because readers already trusted the information I was sharing.
