Am I being shadowbanned or Pinterest gave up on me account?

Since last 2 days sudden drop in outbound clicks an impression. Its been like 2.5 months in. Outbound click got hit the most. Feels brutal rn. This is my first Pinterest project.

Some reasons I think it tanked:
1. Inconsistency- I had gaps of 2-5 days between batch of pin scheduled directly on pinterest and then i do 5 pins publish a day.
2. Including "Save pin" CTA element on the pin images and description.
3. Engagement time on site(2-40 secs, sometimes 2 mins max)
4. Creating many boards and having only like 4-5 pins in them each.

I could be wrong tho. Anyone faced such issues lately or earlier? Should I abandon it and move on? Domain is linked tho

Btw I thought the clicks would compound but it's just initial push and done thing, how do Pinterest experts even compound and rack in 10m impressions a day in this platform?

Pinterest traffic can be pretty volatile, especially on newer accounts. I wouldn't abandon it after just 2.5 months. Consistency and giving your best-performing pins time to mature usually matters more than day-to-day fluctuations.

Rookie mistake. Never quit cos of the usual dip. This has always been the case with Pinterest. It happens, keep pinning.

honestly its not a shadowban, pinterest algo has been super wild lately for everyone. those 4-5 pins in many boards might be the main issue here, try to fill them up first. also avoid the "save pin" cta on every image cuz it looks spammy to the bot. dont quit yet, just fix the consistency and post 2-3 high quality fresh pins everyday and see how it goes for another month.

I don't believe that you have been shadow banned but that there's volatility to your pins views due to the Algo. Try posting consistently for 2-3 weeks and see if the problem persists.

Pinterest wants users to stay on the platform, not click away. that said, inconsistent posting and sparse boards aren't helping. you need to give the algorithm something to chew on consistently. also, the short engagement times suggest your pins aren't really hooking people once they land on your site. aim to keep them there longer with better content

Yes, this kind of fluctuation is pretty common on Pinterest especially in the first few months. it is not usually a broken account situation.

Pinterest traffic can be very volatile, especially on newer accounts. The bigger issues are probably inconsistency and weak board/content structure rather than the short-term drop itself.
Most large Pinterest accounts compound through:

• hundreds/thousands of pins
• consistent publishing
• strong keyword targeting
• months of data accumulation

those empty boards are definitely killing your account relevance. pinterest wants to see curated hubs, not just random boards with 4 pins in them. also about the compounding thing... the guys pulling millions of views are usually running aged domains or scaling across multiple accounts. for a brand new domain, 2.5 months is nothing. i would merge those thin boards, stop using the exact same CTA on every single image, and just schedule out pins for the next month. if you still see zero traction after that, then maybe pivot. but don't quit yet, pinterest is notorious for random dry spells before a spike.

i just merged them from 57 to 30 boards in a day. hope it doesnt get spam flag cause of mass merge in a day

one thing nobody mentioned... that 2 day drop lining up right after you been doing daily pins for a while is probably just pinterest reshuffling who sees your stuff, not a penalty. outbound clicks always tank first when distribution gets throttled cause thats the metric they trust least on new domains.

the merge from 57 to 30 in a day might actually spook the system a bit ngl, but its not the end of the world. wouldnt touch the account structure again for like 2 weeks now, let it settle. doing too many "fixes" at once makes it hard to know what actually moved the needle.

honestly the dwell time is the part i'd worry about more than the boards. 2-40 secs means people are bouncing off your landing page, and pinterest does watch where the traffic ends up. if they keep sending clicks and people leave instantly it learns to stop sending. fix the page before you obsess over pin volume imo. boards being thin is real but its a slower problem, bounce rate hurts faster.

and yeah the compounding thing is kinda a myth for single accounts on fresh domains. the 10m a day people are running aged stuff or multiple accounts feeding each other like someone said. dont measure yourself against that yet.

I merged the boards and fixed cta's and it recovered in next two days. So glad it did. Now more outbound clicks than before. But I dont see clicks compounding from old pins. Its only the recent pins that brings clicks.
