How Do New Accounts Grow So Fast on X

I often see new adult accounts on X that gain 20k or more followers within 2–3 weeks and consistently get thousands of likes and views. I’m interested in how they do it. Is it some kind of paid promotion? Do they buy ads somewhere? Or are there really free ways to grow that quickly?
I’m still new to X, so I’m trying to understand how growth works here.

it can look like that, some are just really good at posting consistently or jumping on trends early, but a lot of the super fast growth usually has some boost behind it like shoutouts, promos, etc... Organic fast growth is possible, just not that common.

the way adult accounts grow on X is through a lot of engagement. Most of them are connected, and they constantly hype each other with retweets. The accounts also make it a point to appear early in the replies section of major account with ragebait

I'll put it more simply, there's a base of strong, authoritative Twitter accounts that quickly raise new accounts. I do the same thing. Naturally, you need good content in the niche for rapid growth.

Check the engagement quality before believing the numbers. If an account has 20k followers but very low replies or real interactions, the growth may not be as strong as it looks.

I totally agree with you, but I would like to add that other influencers might also get paid even if they offer this service for their friends.

Some accounts also benefit from collaborations or mentions from much larger accounts. One good exposure can bring more followers than weeks of normal posting.

I totally agree with you, but I would like to add that other influencers might also get paid even if they offer this service for their friends.

Some influencers would prefer to partake in the money made from selling accounts, over getting paid at the start of the work.

usually its a mix of good content,trends repost and paid promotion. some accounts also get an early boost when a few posts take off. 20k in a few weeks isnt impossible but its definitely not normal organic growth

Growth on X can come from regular posting, useful replies and content that gets noticed by more people. Some accounts may also have an audience from other platforms. It is difficult to know the exact reason for another account’s growth without knowing how it was built.
