What does a typical week for you look like?

What’s up guys? I was checking my schedule and figured I would see how others manage their time.

My schedule typically keeps me busy. I am managing a desk for about 12 hours a day during the week. Being at my desk for that long typically involves me managing the projects on my plate and the tasks I need to get done. I use my weekends to completely disengage from work and focus on self care. I spend my weekends to snack on some good food, binge some PC games, and catch up with my family.

Making a routine that sticks is frustrating and time consuming. I know during the week it seems like a race to finish all my needs and responsibilities and have time to myself and do what I want to do.

How do you manage your week? Do you have a routine that is the same and really structured? Or do you just see how each day goes?

Mine is also similar to what you have shared. I work most of the day during the week and most of the time on weekends I just chill, watch YouTube, watch football, and a must... go to the field to play football

I don't have a fixed routine because my schedule is not fixed either.
I can have a Monday where absolutely nothing is on my plate and then Tuesday comes and heaven starts falling down

But I'm still always able to manage everything and keep up during the weekdays, so I get to do what I want on the weekends.
I still work on weekends sometimes but I have control over whether I do that or not

My weekdays are usually filled with client projects and managing daily search engine optimization tasks but I make sure to completely disconnect during the weekend to recharge my brain.

I have phases, right now I am spending time all day to take care of family and work overnight online.

Last week I spent more time doing fun things with family during day and paperwork and research overnight.

The week before that, it was mostly work to pay bills and a home improvement project with no fun time.

I try to take a break each day and watch a short tv show to unwind and relax for a bit.

The sudden change from the normalcy of a quiet Monday to the madness of a busy Tuesday is something a lot of people can relate to. It is impressive that you are able to keep things on track during the week so you can enjoy your time off.

The ability to just disconnect and watch some matches or you can even get out on the football field to recharge seems like the way to go. Being able to schedule your weekend activities like this is important.

I can understand what you mean. Finding time to take care of all the SEO duties while also meeting client demands is no easy task. It's best to completely unplug during the weekends to prevent burnout and to keep your mind sharp. You can see a big improvement when Monday hits.

It sounds like working in phases has really helped you! I can't even imagine how tough it would be to care for your family during the day and work overnight. It's impressive that you are able to adapt every week. I think taking that daily break to watch a show is nice and just gives you a moment to breathe when your schedule is so unpredictable.

Recently shook my routine up completely and now I’m working 9am to 5pm and getting away from work outside of those hours. It’s hard adjusting because previously I was working 12+ hours mon-sun. But it definitely feels better having some work/life balance.

I pretty much work for 8~ hours 6 days a week.

I tried working 12 but I noticed my energy levels tank and not much productive work gets done.

Sunday is my day off.

You must be feeling a huge difference working with a strict schedule from your old days working 12 hour shifts. I work from 10 AM to 10 PM, and even though I’m not working as many hours, I know how tiring working those shifts is.

You’ve gotten used to not having your time and being busy with work. Having work not be your entire life really pays off the adjustment period.

Having a six-day work week is tough, but only having to work for eight hours is a nice change. Personally, I have to work twelve hour shifts. It can be difficult to keep up your energy for that long. Working that long, there will definitely be a point where you just can't do anything productive anymore. Definitely a good idea to take that Sunday off to let you completely recharge.

I recently started ordering meal prep for the whole week, and it’s honestly made my weekdays a lot easier. I don’t have to spend time deciding what to eat or ordering food every day. Helps me stay focused during work. Also makes easier to keep track of my calories since everything is already portioned out.

It’s a small thing, but removing that daily “what am I eating?” decision has helped my routine. I try to keep things simple so I don’t overcomplicate my schedule.
