Well it depends but I use laptop for most of my work cause it's portable and can be easily moved from one place to another

Why do you have a desktop setup for IM? Serious question, sounds expensive and over kill, unless you are a PC gamer or video editor.

I have been a desktop user since 2000. I had a notebook for some time 15 years ago, but did not use it for work.

I chose a desktop because I can connect multiple monitors and upgrade the hardware whenever I need. Previously, I had the option to get brand desktops (HP, IBM) cheaply. They were reliable but had limited upgrade capability. However, I built my current computer myself last year.
