That matrix talk is deep, man. Honestly, looking at how aggressively these tech monopolies are pushing to keep everyone inside their own ecosystem, it doesn't even sound like sci-fi anymore.
the matrix is real. If you can't see it yet it means you still have a bit of Cypher in you
But until they hardwire Google directly into our psyches, we still need to pay our bills.
if everyone stopped paying their bills at once who's gonna do anything about it? And how? We are billions, they (whoever they are) are a few 100s (if even that).
We just need to wake up and to reclaim our freedoms, that's all! But most of us are still asleep and fearful of everyone and everything under the Sun, so until we drop these fears we will continue being slaves to the many systems imposed on us...
But regarding paid ads – don't you think tech companies will always need a way to monetize?
do you think that Patel, Thiel, or Bezos need more money? They have enough money to wipe their asses clean with them.
When you've reached a certain level of wealth your next priority becomes preserving the status quo, and after that, the next priority is immortality.
These people don't need any more money, they don't need to monetize anything, their game is played by different rules at this point and only they know the rules while we are just puppets. For these people it's all about maintaining the status quo like I said (ie. keeping the masses poor, ignorant, and enslaved - mentally, physically, legally, and financially - so that we can't see that we're being played and can't have the means or strength to revolt against our overlords).
To achieve these truly evil goals these ultra-rich trillionaires are willing to spend their entire fortune if they have to, so monetizing our thoughts is the least of their worries.
If they can control or alter our thoughts, or if they can input thoughts directly into our heads (which they do have the technology for it btw) you can be sure that they're not going to waste this tech on making us buy shower gel or whatever from them. At that level the goals become different, bigger, and more sinister than forcing us to continue buying their products
Even if search shifts to an AI interface or "straight to the brain," they'll still find a way to inject sponsored content or products into those answers.
of course! But like I said, if they have access to our thoughts making us buy their products instead of forcing us to do anything that they wish feels like a waste, so the goals are different at that point...
Until that collapse happens, what’s your immediate survival plan for the next 6-12 months? Still riding the parasite wave, or looking into alternative traffic sources completely outside of Google's grip?
I've got none! I've sold my last 4 websites in 2022 and stopped doing SEO, and in 2023 I've moved to the countryside and I'm living off pittance money that I can find from wherever I can...
At the moment I'm picking cherries from the 1 cherry tree that I have in my garden, and I've been picking them for the last 4 days because otherwise the crows will eat them all... and there's 100s of those bastards... or at least it feels like there's 100s of them, it's possible that there are only dozens of them, but I'm telling you that even if there were only 10 of them I'd still be pissed because those bastards are only eating half of the cherry, and they're only eating the absolutely most beautiful and healthiest ones too, leaving me only the least ripe / the rotten ones
Anyway, with regards to money and my plan of survival I've got none of them moment. I still have some money left from last year, but this should last me until the end of next month, after that I don't know what I'll do. If I have to leave the countryside to move back to the city to find a job... well, that will be unpleasant (I never liked working and - more importantly than that - I've never been good at working because I'm physically fragile, I'm not handicapped or anything, it's just that I'm a weakling in the true sense of the word, like I have weak joints and can't lift heavy stuff, I also have anemia that totally blackouts my entire eyesight and sense of reality for like 10-30 seconds few times a year, that sort of things which prevent me to maintain physically demanding jobs for long period of time... as for the intellectual aspect, I have never been good at indoctrination in schools, I've graduated Environmental Physics and Economy > Management, but I didn't understand shit of everything that I've "learned" in those 2 colleges that I've graduated from... I actually don't even know how I've graduated them to be honest, I don't remember squat from 2007 when I've graduated, so yeah.... getting a job will be very difficulty for me, so once I eat up the little money that I have left I'll probably end up on the streets or something, god knows...)
