What do I do with my TikTok account that has been declined from the Creator Program?

I have hit 10k followers and I get pretty good views so I recently applied for the Creator Program. Today I got declined for "Account with Unoriginal Content". My account just reposted youtube videos, putting subtitles over them, cutting them up to make them shorter and better to watch and changing the aspect ratio so its suitable for TikTok.

I'm not sure what to do with my account atm, my videos are still doing well so i'm thinking I could just reupload to Shorts or Facebook/Reels and hopefully they will be less lenient?. Would like some advice here. Thanks

First you could try talking to the TikTok support. Yeah TikTok is strict nowadays and reused content gets flagged easily even with heavy editing.

The rejection is not surprising. Adding subtitles, trimming clips, and changing the aspect ratio is usually not considered original content by most creator monetization programs.

If you want to qualify for monetization, you'll likely need to add substantial original value—such as commentary, analysis, narration, education, or creative editing—rather than simply repurposing existing videos.

You can try other platforms, but many are becoming stricter about reused content as well. Long term, creating more original content is usually the safer path.

The rejection makes sense because subtitles and aspect ratio changes usually are not considered original content anymore If the account already has traction I would gradually transition into adding your own commentary insights or edits instead of relying on reposts alone

Yes, but probably not like the way they work a few years ago. from what I've seen, stories are is not for reaching new people and use to keep your existing audience engaged. i would advise that reels are still the better tool for discovery, and stories use to maintain relationships with followers you already have.

Fix the rejection by focusing on original, high-retention content and staying within TikTok’s guidelines—most declines come from reused or low-value videos.
Post consistently (1–2 daily), improve watch time with strong hooks, and clean up any flagged or borderline content.
Reapply after 30 days once your account shows steady engagement and meets all Creator Program requirements.

You should file a complaint with TikTok staff; I think they will resolve the issue for you.

a creator program decline is almost always a threshold miss, not a personal call, so first figure out which number youre short on: region eligibility, the follower + views-in-30-days bar, or a watchtime/originality flag sitting on the account. reapplying without fixing the actual gap just gets you auto-declined again on the next cycle. honestly though, the program payout is peanuts per view and not worth building around. if the account has a real audience youre far better off monetizing off-platform, your own offer, affiliate links, or funneling them somewhere you actually control and keep 100%. whats the follower count, region, and 30-day views, because that tells you if reapplying is even worth the effort or if you should just pivot the monetization entirely.

If the account is still getting good views, you can keep growing it, but I'd start adding more original commentary or unique edits. Cross-posting to Shorts and Reels is worth trying too, but they also have policies around reused content, so relying on original content is the safer long-term approach.

The decline makes sense honestly, reposting youtube videos with subtitles and recuts still reads as unoriginal to them no matter how much you edit it. From what I've seen the program is stricter about source material than about performance, so good views won't save it if the base content isn't yours. Reuploading the same stuff to Shorts or Reels will probably hit the same wall eventually, so if monetization is the goal I'd start layering in some actually original content on the account rather than pure reposts.

Both Shorts and Reels strictly detect reused content, so you must add transformative value to qualify for monetization as switching platforms won't bypass the AI.
