I've been thinking about this lately. When you're only managing a small number of client sites, it's easy to end up paying for more tools than you really need.

Some people seem to run lean and get great results, while others rely on several paid tools to save time and improve reporting.

For those handling fewer than 20 sites, where do you draw the line between a worthwhile investment and an unnecessary expense?

Curious to hear what others consider essential and what you've stopped paying for.

For SEO I use only Ahref Subscription no other , Earlier use to do Semrush too . For Communication Deffinately Slack Subscription. The Rest of all reporting Stuff is being done using AI Tool no paid tools for That, Our Number of Client sare 10 so good for us for now.

For me Semrush - although its SERP tracking isn't always the most reliable

Pay for tools that either save time every week or directly help you make better decisions. Everything else is noise.

For me essential would be:

Ahrefs or Semrush, but not both
Screaming Frog
Search Console
A rank tracker
One good content/AI workflow
Some kind of link building stack

I stopped paying for tools that just give the same data in a different UI. A lot of SEO tools overlap like crazy.

For small client load, I’d rather spend on execution than dashboards. Good content, tech fixes, internal links, and steady backlinks move the needle more than having 10 tools open.

For link building, GSA SER still has its place if you know tiered link building. I wouldn’t use it blindly on money sites, but for powering up buffers, parasite pages, web 2.0s, citations, etc, it still works well. RankerX is ok too, but if I had to keep only one automation tool I’d keep SER because it’s more flexible.
