From what I’ve seen, most Reddit posts either get picked up in the first 30 minutes or they fade pretty fast. But it also depends a lot on the subreddit.
In smaller or slower subs, a post can still gain traction a few hours later because there is less competition. In bigger subs, timing matters much more since new posts get buried quickly.

Depending on the popularity of your post, it's possible to generate traffic from a single post for years to come.

I agree though on long-tail traffic , small trickle numbers............. but real traffic, not much.

I feel like the key is getting a blast in the first month which can change your whole income bracket literally in 48 hours

It is really depends on the subreddit and the engagement it gets. Some posts fade within a few hours, while others can start gaining traction much later if they receive upvotes, comments, or get picked up by reddit's algorithm.
