To the young men (women) who are reading this, while this gentleman may have good intentions you need to be worried about the advice you get. Specially, the should have could have types. The S&P 500 started in March 1957 - but that's semantics and is a clean 31 years away from being over 100 years old. 20 to 30 years ago getting your hands on investing books and material was nonexistent and now every dude out here thinks they've unlocked God mode. The average 18-year-old in the days barely had a car or a job that offered stock options or retirement benefits, and the average job was 32k a year and that was at peak age (35-55). IRAs and 401k are managed with spreadsheets, algo, and software today and it wasn't like your money was moving around like the sophisticated $hit we have today. Mobility, communication, and transportation are worlds apart from the 2000s and it wasn't like you can uber as a side hustle. If you were an 80s baby majority of families were getting wrecked by the oil crisis followed by an economic downturn in the 1990s. The GDP in the 2000 was approximately $10.25 trillion and in 2026 its 32 trillion so the US is flushed with cash now a days and why you see the 25 year olds with 2026 cars vs a $hit box in 2012. I haven't even touched 2008 and thats just another story- Majority of us men always say "If I knew about dating now, I would have killed it in High school/college"
No one is saving $2 million by 25.
1% of people under 25 have a net worth of 430k This is including all the nepo babies.
No its not - its extremely hard. If you go to trade school at minimum you are burning 2 years and it may take you another 4-5 years to become proficient enough to make this amount of money. If you make 2 million by 25 the government is taking 32-37% if you live in Cities like New York half of the money is gone in 2 years. So you would have to make 3 million dollars. Which is less than 1% of the population
Here is the problem with following this guys advice. He is following a paradigm like the climate change people.
They see this chart and think we can only go up

When the chart really looks like this - we really dont know the cycle of the S&P 500 we only have a snapshot

In 1980s Japanese we hear about the boom and bust - but they never talk about the millions of Japanese that had their WHOLE retirement in the Nikki 255

You are VERY confident about dumping 2 million dollars into the S&P 500? Do you think you are special or unlock some kind of infinite money glitch? You dont think some of the smartest and brightest Japanese investors and business men were not playing the same game in 1989 and got rugged pulled? It took over 34 years to recover. When does the S&P 500 has its Nikki 1989?
In my opinion this post is a funnel into your business and that is fine. I'm just calling a spade a spade. You didn't come in here telling people how to become the top 20%, but more like the .5%. You didn't say hey guys look this is hard as %hit - but at the end you can do X and X.
The other strange thing is that you are from the UK - What are the odds someone from the UK 20 years ago would invest in the S&P 500 - so I find your statements very strange and very US centric as if this is your target base for your funnel.
My post is not an attack on you, but you have no clue what is going down in the next 25 years for a 18 year old now.
I'm not going to get involved in a big point by point argument.
Yes, if you invested on the worst day in history of the worst market in the past 100 years you'd only have just recovered today.
Well done. You got me. You found an extreme case that proves me wrong.
Of course this doesn't change my advice. The s&p 500 is still one of the safest things you can. There's bonds, but that'll only just beat inflation by a little.

This here is the biggest problem.
Blackhatworld has changed. I've not been around much in the past 2 years, and I didn't realize how much it's changed.
Throughout the past 15 years this forum has been full of ballers making money in marketing.
The fact that you mention "trade school" to me is extremely weird.
The kind of responses are getting are akin to what I'd get if I posted on a students forum, or a car enthusiast forum or some other forum full of regular everyday normies.
I've made 8 figures since I joined this forum.
I have clients from this forum who do 7 to 8 figures. I have 1 client who runs a 9 figure company. I met him here.
Your world is not my world.
You can jump over to my world if you can shift your mindset out the negative normie one to an abundance mindset. You're very welcome over here.
I have multiple 19 to 23 year old friends who make 6 figures a month.
I don't know any who make 7 though. 30's and 40's, yeah, but not 20's, so I give you that.
In my day here, people were coming here to make real money and obtain financial freedom.
This is why there's no even any point going point by point. You aren't who I was aiming this post at.

Now, this I will address. This is a very direct claim.
I understand you might not know about funnels, but, can you explain to me where my funnel is and what I'm selling where you think my goal is to find broke angry young men and convince them to invest in the s&p 500?
Do you know anything about me?
I run a link selling business that's been in the marketplace here since 2017. I don't get customers for my pbns by writing posts about the s&p 500.
The 2 things have absolutely 0 in common.
People like you who are talking about trade school are absolutely not my target market for selling links.
You are essentially accusing me of being a make money online coach trying to get people into some imaginary funnel.
Where is the funnel?
What am I selling?
Or is my marketing method: Catch your attention with telling you to save some money to invest in the s&p 500, then, I hit you with my link building package? Here, these links will help you invest in the s&p 500.
splishsplash's S&P 500 Link Building Package. Yeah let me wire up a new sales package. We could run a marketing campaign like "Look at this graph of the s&p 500. Your rankings will look exactly like this!"
That's a great idea actually.
P.S. What a weird-ass account you have.
Joined in 2017. Last post in 2021, then you appear today just to attack me? 5 years after your last post?
My post was so offensive to you it brought you out of a 5 year retirement? ;-) Or more likely you bought an account to come here and attack. Likely one of the other weird accounts posting here.
