How to minimize the risk of payment card failure while running Facebook ads?

It must be a unique, previously unused card, a clean IP address, and a clean device.

Have enough balance to cover ad spend payment? And maybe don't use random virtual card services.

Things that helped me:
  • aged BM/accounts > fresh ones
  • same country on profile/card/IP
  • don’t instantly scale from $20 to $2k/day
  • keep backup cards ready before problems happen
  • avoid constantly swapping payment methods
  • verify business info properly

Make sure your card always has sufficient funds and use reputable card brands.

A card that hadn't been used on other accounts is a good one. Try not to use the card in more than one account too, on top of that. Make sure it has enough balance, if you have to use a VCC, make sure it's one of the big name ones or ones given by your actual bank vs random ones you get online. Those are your usual ones to minimise issues.

Diversify your card types.
That's what I'm doing.
When you add too many accounts and only one type of card, it's bound to fail.
If you use multiple types of cards, the risk will decrease.
You should be careful because nowadays faulty cards can disable your account.
For example, Mastercard, Visa, or cards from countries like the United States, Hong Kong.

Use clean VCCs, there are a few which you can top up with crypto and use for media buying/ads

using too may cards
u just find a good partner to get card with no fee. i am like that

For each account, you should use a separate card ideally, a new one.

tbh, it’s best to use 1 card per account. make sure it’s fresh, not used before, and matches your account’s geo.
u can create one through pretty much any virtual card service.

I think the problem is the source of card. because there're so many sources of card in the market, you can try to switch to another and combine many of them.

Card failures on Meta aren't random. The algorithm flags payments based on specific risk footprints.

Avoid Public Prepaid BINs: Meta heavily scrutinizes the issuing bank. If you are using cheap, publicly available prepaid VCCs, the BINs are likely already flagged by spammers. You need to source high-tier corporate Debit or Credit BINs that have a clean reputation.

Geographic Consistency: Ensure your card's issuing country matches the billing address of the Business Manager (BM) and the IP proxy you use to manage it. Mismatched geos trigger immediate payment holds.
