Okay so most people buy an aged domain,
install WordPress, copy the usual affiliate
site structure, and then wonder why nothing
is moving six weeks later.
The problem isn't the domain. It's that
there are actually four different ways
to deploy it and they're not interchangeable.
Picking the wrong one wastes the authority
you just paid for.
Here's what operators are actually doing:
1. Single Landing Page
One page. One keyword. All the domain's
authority sitting behind one URL.
No blog section diluting crawl budget,
no category pages that rank for nothing.
Just one page doing one job.
If the domain has DR 35 and 150 referring
domains, putting all of that behind one page
is going to compete hard. Split it across
100 pages and each page gets a fraction
of that weight.
Best for: Indonesia, Thailand, Philippines,
Vietnam markets where operators are
targeting specific keywords fast and
mobile traffic is the primary channel.
2. AMP Landing Page - Mobile First
In Indonesia, 78-85% of iGaming searches
happen on mobile. Thailand and Vietnam
are similar or higher.
A standard WordPress page loading at
3.8 seconds becomes 7 seconds when
the signal drops. Players don't wait
they go back to the SERP.
AMP strips the page down, serves from
Google's cache, loads under 1 second.
For mobile organic traffic in SEA,
this is often what separates ranking
from not ranking.
Setup: AMP version for mobile indexing +
full canonical page for desktop. Both on
the same domain, both carry the same authority.
Best for: Indonesia, Thailand, Vietnam
anywhere in SEA where 4G is the reality
rather than fast broadband.
3. Subfolder Geo Structure
Running multiple country targets and don't
want to manage a separate aged domain
per market?
Make the aged domain the authority hub.
Each market gets its own subfolder
/id/ for Indonesia, /th/ for Thailand,
/ph/ for Philippines.
Why subfolders and not subdomains?
Google treats subfolders as part of the
root domain, so DR 40 and 200 RDs actually
flow down to each subfolder. Subdomains
tend to get treated like separate sites.
One thing people always get wrong,
hreflang needs to be reciprocal. If your
/id/ page references /th/, your /th/ page
must also reference /id/ back. Miss this
and Google ignores the whole implementation
entirely. Happy to share the exact setup
if anyone is building this out.
Best for: Teams running ID + TH + PH
from a single authority hub without
buying a separate aged domain per country.
4. Full Money Site
The familiar one. WordPress, pillar pages,
casino reviews, slot guides, bonus comparisons,
blog the full affiliate setup.
Right call when you're playing long game
building topical authority across a wide
keyword set over 18-24 months.
But also the slowest, most expensive,
and most likely to fail when the content
doesn't match the domain's topical history.
A sports media domain pointing its authority
toward casino slots will transfer authority
less cleanly than one pointing toward
sports betting. Context matters.
Best for: Regulated Western markets
UK, Germany, Netherlands, Canada, Australia
where long-term topical authority matters
more than speed to rank.
Quick recap:
Single landing page, speed and
authority concentration. SEA fast markets.
AMP mobile SEA traffic is your target.
Subfolder geo multiple markets,
one authority hub.
Full money site long game,
Western regulated markets.
The model follows the market.
SEA operators go fast and concentrated.
Western markets go broad and slow.
The decision comes before you touch anything.
Get this wrong and it doesn't matter how
good the domain is you're working against
yourself from day one.
Which model are you running?
Drop it below curious what's actually
working for people right now.
