As of Thursday last week (7th May 2026) the final nail in the coffin of FAQ rich results was hammered in by the Google mallet. These have been being depreciated since 2023. If you were lucky enough to have benefitted from the nice dropdowns under your organic listings in the past, remember them fondly, and have a drink to mourn the passing.

Benefitted briefly on one of my sites.
It seems they're preventing Google from keeping all the traffic to itself?

Gotta plug all those traffic leaks!

So FAQs will be treated just like normal text of the articles?

At least it keeps the argument simple now "Why do some people have/get FAQ under their sites?" lol We all equal listings now

RIP FAQ snippets :)

Honestly not surprised.

Google has been trimming down SERP clutter for a while now first HowTo, now FAQs.

Feels like they only want rich results for super authoritative or highly trusted sources moving forward.
