Which payment method gave you the best protection against friendly fraud and chargebacks?

• PayPal?
• Stripe/card payments?
• Bank wire?
• Something else?

We’ve had cases where:
customer receives product, tracking shows delivered, everything is fine… then weeks later they file a chargeback and still win.

Feels like merchants are guilty until proven innocent sometimes.

Curious what actually reduced disputes for you long term.

The platforms will protect buyers until a lawsuit is filed, no solution is perfect.

Cards have better fraud protection while PayPal can have more rigid approach to disputes

In order of effectiveness as regards to your questions and in my own experience, it is :

Card Payments..
Stripe Card Payments..
PayPal..
Bank Wire..

Delivering what was advertised, fast delivery, knowing how to relate and support customers can reduce disputes for you long term.

Bank transfers usually offer the best protection against chargebacks, but they’re less convenient for customers.
With PayPal and card payments through Stripe, disputes are still a common issue. What helps many sellers is:
  • clear communication
  • tracking + proof of delivery
  • signature confirmation
  • antifraud filters
  • and a strong account history
But yes, in e-commerce the system often protects the buyer more than the seller.
