"Cyrus Shepard synthesises 55 experiments, patents, and case studies to rank 22 factors linked to AI citations, with URL accessibility scoring highest at 9.5, followed closely by search rank and fan-out rank.

Top signals such as query-answer match, intent-format alignment, and AI-ready structure overlap strongly with traditional SEO, requiring only targeted tweaks for better extractability and relevance.

The analysis shows AI citations favour self-contained, factually specific content near page tops, offering publishers a route to boost organic traffic through established optimisation practices."

This is VERY interesting NGL.

The LLM.txt being at the bottom is so funny. I always knew that it was worthless, but most of my Webflow clients insisted on it. So happy I'm out of this AI optimisation game.

Does this apply to just content based sites or business sites as well

makes sense. ai needs easy to parse info, not long fluff. sites that structure content clean and match intent tight will get cited more
