I want to warn everyone here about a serious issue involving the SMS activation service sms-activate.io.

(Chatgpt formated this post as i'm not english and I wanted this thread to be clear enough, so I explained him in my language and he translated me)

This platform, which many people used on BHW to receive SMS verification codes for account registrations, appears to have carried out an exit scam — taking users’ remaining balances and shutting down access — while simultaneously relaunching under a new name: hero-sms.com

What happened

  • sms-activate.io suddenly became inaccessible for many users.
  • Funds stored in user balances were effectively locked or lost.
  • At the same time, a new site (hero-sms.com) appeared, strongly suggesting it’s the same operators attempting to continue under a different name. They advertise this site themself on the russian version of sms activate.

Evidence from user reviews

There are numerous negative reviews reporting exactly this behavior:
https://fr.trustpilot.com/review/sms-activate.io?languages=all&stars=1

The Russian site is still online — but misleading and redirecting to the new site
https://sms-activate.ru/

It currently displays this message:

"Comment retirer des fonds ?
Les résultats étaient disponibles jusqu'au 5 février. Nous avons informé chaque utilisateur par courriel et par messagerie instantanée. Malheureusement, personne d'autre n'est disponible pour traiter vos demandes."
This is completely false.

  • I personally used the service at the end of January, and there was no warning whatsoever about any shutdown or withdrawal deadline.
  • I did not receive any email, SMS, or notification.
  • I have been emailing them for over two months requesting a refund of my remaining balance.
  • All my emails have been ignored.

Conclusion

  • A deliberate exit scam
  • False communication to cover it up
  • A rebrand attempt via hero-sms.com

Do NOT deposit any money on hero-sms.com or any related service.
There is a high risk they will repeat the exact same scam.

Stay safe and spread the word.

they had some legal issues i think thats why they rebranded
i used them and they used to be good

Yes, but it's not a reason to exit scam, they stole me money, and as you can see on trustpilot on their old/new business some people lost a lot of money. They didn't warned about closing, and they don't want to refund balances, that's pure scam, so no, they are not good now. I hope someone will sue them for this.

Yeah they could still refund everyone if they were having legal issues

Yes, but they don't, so it's 100% an exit scam, no doubts possible, none of their customers received any emails telling the site closed and ability to get their funds back. It's 100% a lie

WTF?Our company is one of the new suppliers for Herosms. If what you said is true, we will reevaluate it.

I invite you to read the reviews about herosms and sms-activate on trustpilot to see many people got scammed. I lost all my balance and they lie telling they warned people by email: Nobody received a single email and no warning on their website, I used it daily

If this is really true, it's very unfortunate. I am certain BHW would look into this concern and get it sorted out. Sorry for your stress by the way

this post is 4 months old, I would like to know did they refund you or someone you know or still no answer?
Because I had like $10-$15 there but I was not buying in bulk, just occasional activations... But I feel sorry for those who have had hundreds/thousands deposited and lost their hard earned money.

I read some comments. Most of the negative ones were criticizing the company for not refunding the users' balances. And our cooperation with Herosms is based on advance payment, so there shouldn't be any problems.

Read better then
