.edu blog commenting

Hi Mates,

need some tips about .edu blog commenting.

I do have my lists for edu blog commenting and I am NOT placing spam comments. All manually done, adding theme related comments. But the approval rate is very low, comparing with similar work on other blogs.

Sometimes I even see the spam comments approved while mine never appears.

Is there something I am missing. Any special observations to follow for success on those mostly university sites?

What do you use as a name (i.e. anchor text)? I think if you post with a name like "cure acne", they see it and delete the comment, without even looking at the rest of it. The secret is to use the least obtrusive keyword as a name.

Yes thanks, I didn't do that. That's most probably directly regognized as spam.
Used caroline and a caroline@domain email. Had some further test since I placed my question and changed to name + name@hotmail which brought better results so far, but I am still not satisfied comparing the results with commecial blog comments.

Don't need to say that my comments are related to the posts and don't look spammy at all.

If you don't use your anchor text in the name field then you will have to post the live link in the comment and trigger more spam alarms.

Yeah thanks, I am aware of this. After observing improvements by just changing the email address to hotmail.com concording with the username I think next step should be to use an US proxy as suggested by shin610.

How about creating your own Wordpress blog on a .edu site, and creating as many links as you want in your posts?

Yes thanks good idea, will try that with the next step where possible. A problem may occure with the personal data (location, US zip and more if you are not located in the States).

It's really hard to have a backlink on those moderated blogs this days. Even though you write a relative comment but as long as the webmasters saw some link to another site to your comment then they just delete. That's how I am in my blog.

yeah, I got pissed too, after getting BS comments. I now log in and mass delete. Especially with a link. But every once a while I allow few to go thru if they are related and not BS sites.

In regards to commenting, I had OK success with names something like :

John Smith " The Ugly Acne Guy", I usually stay away from placing links in comment box, but if I do than I use it as signature

John Smith " The Ugly Acne Guy.
www . my awsome acne creme .com

even the actual anchor is not great it can generate some traffic due to catchy name, as long its not spammed post.
US-proxy should work better for you as well

Thanks for your comments mates. Concerning spam, I didn't do that. Only posted comments to articles I could contribute with something related and no links in the comment. Even that way I had to make about 50 to get just 12 links with my user name. Astonishingly saw obvious spam with links approved on blogs where my contribution had been deleted.
