Hey guys,
I keep seeing people say longer content ranks better, but not sure if that’s still true now.
Do you still focus on long articles or shorter content works just as well if it’s more targeted?
Just trying to understand what’s actually working these days.

Length alone doesn’t really matter anymore.

I’ve seen short content rank well if it answers the query properly, and long content fail if it’s just filler.

Now it’s more about:
  • matching search intent
  • covering the topic properly (not necessarily longer)
  • keeping it clear and useful
That said, longer content can still work if the topic actually needs depth. But forcing 2–3k words on a simple topic usually doesn’t help.

So yeah, quality + relevance > word count.

Curious, have you seen better results with shorter or longer posts in your niche?

Structuring content properly which solves user intent help rank in AI and traditional SEO. People are seeing AI Overview search results where competition is less for the keywords, whereas the keywords where competition is high you will find traditional Google search UI. Strategy of both long as well as short should be adopted for today's AI search.

length doesnt matter alot, what really matters is how well it answers the search intent. In many cases, shorter and more focused pages perform just as well if they quickly solve the user’s problem. The smartest approach is to use only as many words as needed to fully cover the topic, without adding unnecessary fluff.

From my experience long content still works in SEO if it fully answers the topic and is well structured, otherwise even short focused content can rank better.

I feel length does not matter as much now. What works is content that matches the intent, sometimes short is enough, sometimes long is needed. Quality and relevance matter more than word count.

Long content still works but only when it matches search intent and delivers real value longer articles help when topics need depth but short focused content can rank just as well if it answers the query clearly best approach is quality relevance and completeness not just word count

Content length doesn’t matter as much now what matters is how well it answers the user’s question. Short or long both work if they are useful, according to Google.

It’s more about meeting search intent than hitting a specific word count these days. I’ve seen 800 word pages beat out 5,000 word guides just because they get straight to the point without all the fluff. Just write enough to answer the user's question fully and stop once you've covered the topic.
