Hey everyone,
I’ve been working on an idea, and I’d really value some honest feedback before I go too deep into building it.
The core concept is an AI-powered system where users can create and manage their own “persona”. Essentially, a virtual character that acts like a real influencer.
The idea is to create personas, link them to their own social media accounts, and let them share their ideas, contents etc. It will also be available to add existing accounts and create a persona based on the shared content.

Here’s how I’m thinking about it:
  • You create a persona with a backstory, personality, hobbies, fears, etc.
  • You define how they communicate (tone, languages, fluency levels)
  • You design their visual identity, and the system keeps it consistent across images and videos
  • The system can generate content in that persona’s voice (posts, stories, short videos, etc.)
  • You can give commands like “promote this product in a subtle/viral way” and it generates content accordingly
My goal is not to build a spam/bot system, but more like a “persona engine” that helps people create and run content-driven characters at scale.

A few things I’m trying to validate:
  • Would you actually use something like this?
  • What would make you trust (or not trust) a tool like this?
  • Is the “auto-growing influencer” angle interesting?
  • If you’ve tried similar tools, what’s missing from them today?
Some people in the AI influencers field would be happy to manage their personas from a single place. I'm still curious about your feedback. If this sounds like a terrible idea, I’d rather know now than after building it.

Thanks in advance

To test any idea, build something for yourself to use as quickly as possible, and prototype it.

I don't think its very easy what you say, as its a lot of bells and whistles you would have to do, if i was using it. I don't have a persona, i have a brand name at the moment. But i'm not sure i wouldn't want to allow api acess to one place and centralizing there. I just prefer to post on platforms without ai tbh. Thats my thoughts.

I learned that you should always build what YOU want to use. Otherwise your creation won't stand out and give you the passion to work on it.

If you feel that you need this, then yes go ahead. The best inventions are those that come from people with an interest in the industry.

I think it's a great idea.

For example, my partner has a Shopify store selling handmade soaps. It would be cool to deploy and schedule social media posts promoting her soaps plus a way to generate video ads for FB/IG.

She's camera shy so it would be perfect for this situation I think.

The only issue is for me, would it be hard to create authentic videos with a person and include accurate looking products?

Super cool for scaling content, but it could get pretty creepy if the personalities don't feel genuine or authentic. Just make sure the output doesn't sound too robotic, because nobody wants to follow an AI that's just spamming trends without any real soul

Totally agree with the “build for yourself” part — that’s actually how most of my projects started.

In this case, though, I’m not trying to replace how people currently post or force AI into their workflow. It’s more like an optional layer for people who already want to scale content but don’t want to be the face of it.

You mentioned something important:
you don’t have a persona, you have a brand
That’s exactly one of the things I’m thinking about. Not everyone wants a “character”. Some people want:
  • consistent content
  • faster production
  • maybe multiple angles for the same brand
So maybe this shouldn’t be strictly “persona-first”, but more flexible.
Also +1 on API access and centralization. I think if this becomes anything serious, it has to plug into existing workflows instead of trying to replace them.
And yeah, the passion part is real. I’m personally interested in this because I see how much manual effort goes into content scaling.

This is actually a perfect real-world use case.
Camera-shy creators are probably one of the strongest target groups for something like this. There are so many good products out there that never get proper marketing just because the founder doesn’t want to be on camera.

Your concern is also the hardest technical part, and that’s exactly where most tools fall apart today.
If that part isn’t convincing, the whole thing breaks, especially for e-commerce.

So yeah, if I build this, that’s probably where I’d spend most of the effort. Because if it works for cases like your partner’s store, it becomes actually useful.

Yeah, this is the line I’m very aware of.
Scaling content is easy.
Making it feel real is the hard part.

Still figuring out where that balance is, but I agree that if it feels creepy or soulless, it’s dead on arrival.

You really need to nail the personality depth so these bots don't just feel like another soulless ad machine. Honestly, if it can actually capture that authentic, relatable vibe that keeps people hooked, I’d be totally down to try it out

That sounds like a super cool idea because managing multiple accounts is such a headache for creators. Just make sure the ai feels genuine and not too robotic, or people will totally clock it as fake the second they see it

This is exactly the core challenge. Content is easy to generate, but personality is not. If it ends up feeling like just another content machine, there’s no real value.

What I’m trying to explore is how to make a persona feel consistent over time, not just in tone but in behavior. Like having preferences, reactions, even small quirks that show up repeatedly. That’s what makes something feel relatable instead of generated.

Managing multiple accounts is painful, and that’s without trying to keep them active and engaging.

If it can pass that “this doesn’t feel robotic at first glance” test, then it might actually be useful. Otherwise, it just adds more noise.

This is a good idea. I've seen a few people making similar videos to someone else's. But there will be a certain degree of similarity if you're going to develop a completely new application. It will have to be complex, and the individual points of arrangement for the viewership will be important. If it's just similar, it won't be effective and won't necessarily be successful.

Thanks for your honest feedback! I'll follow up on the same idea to make it effective for the users.
I'm still working on the best outcomes :)
