CRASH after Website Fully Rebuilt

Hi guys,

I fully rebuilt my website recently. Old site had 85 low-quality pages, slow, bad SEO.

I rebuilt 55 articles: perfect SEO, fast, improved content and then moved domain from old website to new one:

• Kept same slugs for most pages
• Redirected old URLs to relevant new content
• Optimized multi-language, hreflang, schema, WebP images, speed, SEO scores all great
• Submitted sitemaps to Google & Bing, RSS feeds, URL inspection
• Titles improved for CTR

After 1 week, traffic in analytics dropped to almost 0.
GSC shows pages indexed, few clicks.
KW Heavy Drop in SemRush
Favicons exist on site but not in Google search yet.

I know Google needs time, but should I do anything to speed recovery?

Is this normal after big rebuild?

Same here. In February, I built several multi-language sites for my main site (using .us, .de, etc.). I nailed the hreflangs and every SEO detail i know, but my main site's rankings still took a massive hit.
It's recovering lately but still weaker than where it used to be. Maybe google is just brain-dead when dealing with multi-language setups.

If you built the new content on your old domain then swapped to a new one, Google might be temporarily seeing the new domain as a duplicate.

Make sure all your redirects are 301 and give it a week or two for he system to understand it's a continuation of the old site rather than a brand new clone. Since you're going WH, I'd just update the existing backlinks and be patient, traffic should start to recover once the algorithm knows what's going on.

That helps. If there's no 'duplicate site' issue then you shouldn't be penalized, but it will still take a little while for Google to churn through all your new pages.

If you still have no traffic in a few weeks I'd start to worry, but right now what you're describing is normal for a full site revamp. It may help speed things up if you trigger a manual reindexing, but you're mostly waiting for Google to figure out whether your site was hacked, bought, or just updated.
