[help]my homepage got deindex

on gsc it shows index however when i try to search it on google
using site: website.com
it only show website.com/page/2

should i replace my domain? its been 2 months

I’d suggest giving it a bit more time and focusing on improving your site’s signals rather than replacing the domain just yet. Check your internal linking, sitemap, and content quality—sometimes pages take longer to fully appear in search.

this would be a good idea only if your current domain is blacklisted or heavily penalized in some way that makes it unrecoverable for google.

The fact that you got deindexed could be attributed to many reasons, such as:

- your site is new, and google doesn't trust it yet
- your content is bad and google doesn't like it yet
- your site is poorly optimized, so google doesn't like it
- your page (the one that got deindexed) is considered orphaned because it has no internal links pointing to it, so point a few internal links to it from other pages that are relevant to that page
- etc...

Basically, you need to audit your site and optimize it for google, by implementing things like...

- make it load fast and be mobile friendly (these 2 are very important things when it comes to technical SEO)
- make it easy to navigate, intuitive, and make sure that all important pages are maximum 3 clicks away from the homepage (ideally, 1 or 2 clicks only, but 3 will work too)
- implement schemas where appropriate
- silo it properly (although, this should have been done in the site planning phase, if you've already built the site in a poorly structured way you'll now have to work even more to structure it properly, and that's assuming that google have not already recorded it with the bad structure and refuse to reward it after you improve it, which could happen)

But anyway, replacing the domain won't do you any good if the domain is still clean and good in general. You only replace domains that are penalized or banned / blacklisted by google, otherwise you keep improving your current domain until the problems get fixed.

Also, you should check your GSC for the reasons that your pages got deindexed, google tend to tell you the exact reason for why they de-indexed your pages, so check google's recommendations and work on those first...

I got a duplicate content just different domain
but that homepage it still index in google

my next step is to follow

after 3-6 months it still not yet index maybe i should switch to my duplicate domain which is already index?

my main site is only surviving because of direct traffic

I don't know what to recommend to be honest. I've been out of the game for several years, so I'm not sure what's working anymore...

But I can say that having 2 domains competing for the same keyword (especially if the content is identical / similar on both domains) is indeed bad, and that's probably why google deindexed the page

Regarding the link you've posted, I don't think that this guide will help with your particular situation, although Topiano is someone who knows SEO, so I would trust him.

Anyway, sorry that I can't help, I didn't know what the exact problem was, but now that I do I have no idea how to fix it. Sorry!

If GSC shows the homepage indexed but it’s missing in site: search, it’s usually a technical or quality signal issue, not a domain problem. Check your canonical, make sure there’s no accidental noindex, and ensure the homepage isn’t duplicated or too thin. Just fix these signals and wait for a fresh crawl no need to replace the domain.
