Ah yes! That screeching, buzzing chaos that somehow meant adventure was about to begin! Brings back so many memories of sitting there, fingers crossed, hoping it actually loads without error.

I still remember my first pc with 20gb hdd filled with a lot of games that were awesome for that time.

It was 1995. I would turn on my computer with Windows 95 running.
It usually took 2-4 minutes for the computer to boot up.
I usually had time to go to the bathroom or the fridge before that.
Then when the computer was turned on, I would open a game called Heroes of Might and Magic and play it.
I made my own custom maps where I easily killed the enemies.
I placed more gold chests on the map for myself than for the enemies.

Game was this:

This happened "yesterday" and I remember that feeling always!

Early 90s PC gaming.

Most of the early PC games from 1990 to 1995 were garbage but there were gems in there. Myst wasn't one of them.

but Doom obviously was

Obviously after this period in the later 90s we started to see really good titles once everyone started to acquire faster internet and games like half life, starcraft and many more came out.
