How do i upload my own avatar and put on a signiture?

click on User CP in the top menu champ, then select 'Edit avatar' & Edit Signature' from the left hand side menu

i click on edit avatar and nothing about getting my own avatar comes up and the signituare thing isnt appearing

HaRRo's modifying the way we can reach the FAQ atm, so i can't check it, but if i'm not mistaken, you can have both (signature and custom avatar) with this post count (100+)

maybe you should wait a bit (a few hours) to let the site update itself (i guess you reached the 100 posts not too long ago) and then try it again

Good info, thanks. My problem is re-sizing an image to fit into the avatar box. The first one I tried squished itself in like a funhouse mirror.

Maximum allowed size for avatars is 100x100px, so if your picture is bigger than that, it's going to be resized. So you need some sort of image editing soft to make your avatar first a square (height and width being the same) and then it will resize properly (or resize it to 100x100 in the image editing software yourself).

Do a search for a free graphics program called "Gimp". It is a great application that you can use to resize your images.

I always thought Gimp was difficult to use, but I suppose it depends on what you are used to. If I was just resizing and cropping I'd open the little, free, easy to use program, Irfanview.
