Hello all.

I am wondering, how can I get first on google? The sites that are first haven nothing to do with the actual key word.

I am thinking about doing Google AdWords but it blocks out the word 'Facebook' so I don't know what to use for my ad...

just make your site relevant to your keyword. you need to find the variation of your keyword and arrange it accordingly..and get some back link from writing article and so on..but make sure the back link are relevant to your site.

Hello all.

Well, that's the easiest thing to do in the world! You haven't figured that out yet?... boy, you are a noob.

Get a copy of SEOBook and implement everything he says in it. If you have little competition, you should be able to get to #1.

google is pretty though to top ranking. i would rather dominate yahoo and msn first ..after that google will follow..

But Yahoo don't like to list new domains in TOP, while brand new domain could rank in 1st page of Google in few days

SEObook and Googlesnatch : these two ebooks are highly recommended by professionals. However, somehow I don't feel there is anything in these two books which you cannot get by little research on Google. Further, I think of a hypothetical situation when two people read these books for targeting the same keyword. They apply the strategy given in this book and do exactly what has been written. Then who will be the number one among them? The top slot is only for one.

My personal experience is that to get into top of Google for a particular keyword is the combination of many strategies which involves :

(1) A quality informative website.
(2) A regularly updating blog for that website.
(3) A correct site map.
(4) 100's of high quality one way back links.
(5) Collection of useful articles on various variant of that particular keyword.
(6) Some basic correct SEO (which include presence of keyword in Title, URL)
(7) Patience & perseverence.
(8) A little bit luck.

I am working on getting number (1) slot for a very competitive keyword and I am slowly getting near to my goal. But still it's a ;long way to go. Since you say that there is zero competition in your niche, you can achieve it very soon
My best wishes.

Hi,

I understand that the fundamentals of SEO require you to have relevant keywords in your webpage titles, keyword metatags, in your content, and that the webpage needs to be search engine friendly. Your website's structure as viewed from your site map also plays a part, as would the number of content-relevant pages you have. Relevant back links from "good" or authority sites that are ranked high and have good page rank also helps.

However to get to the first position in Google also depends on how much competition you have, the google ranking algorithm (which keeps changing), page rank, how long your site has been in operation (hence the use of old or expired domains) and probably a few more other factors. I figure it is possible to get to number one but can you stay there forever....that's the question and the challenge.

Cheerio
