I wouldn’t overcomplicate it just a VPN is fine to start. I’ve used Mullvad, it’s cheap and solid. Express is easier but pricier.

Mullvad and ExpressVPN both have flagged ASNs — domain registrars know exactly what they are and won't serve geo-pricing to them. You need clean residential IPs. Webshare has pay-as-you-go residential at ~$3-4/GB, and for just checking prices you'll use maybe 10MB total. Way cheaper than a monthly VPN subscription for this use case.

No combination of country or protocol in ProtonVPN will give you residential IPs — it's not about the protocol (WireGuard, Stealth, etc.), it's about the ASN the IP belongs to. ProtonVPN IPs are datacenter/hosting ASNs, and registrars like Namecheap or Spaceship fingerprint those at the network level regardless of what protocol you use to connect. Stealth just helps bypass DPI, it doesn't change how the exit IP is classified.
For Webshare residential, go to webshare.io → Proxy → Residential. They have a pay-as-you-go option under the pricing page. For just checking geo-prices on a registrar you'll spend pennies

Skip the free vpns since they’re usually selling your data, and honestly, just grab cheap plan on nordvpn for privacy or a cheap dedicated residential proxy if you’re actually scraping sites for those domain discounts. You’ll definitely need to pay around 5 to 15 bucks a month for something reliable, but it’s a small price to pay to keep your accounts from getting flagged
