Hello guys,

my site was flagged by google once, due to a bad intention campaign made by a competitor and fake reports which made my site flagged, when i was having tons of traffic and a good reputation. after that, i appealed and my site was whitelisted again. but afte that, the traffic drop was horrible... and recovering has been so hard, im not having evej the 30% of same traffic as i used to have

is there anything i could do, im doing mass backlinks, i did 100 pbns, but im really affected by this

I’ve seen cases where traffic only started returning after technical fixes and content updates, not more backlinks. strengthening key pages and improving user engagement signals helped stabilize rankings again.

very common actually

Google already flagged your site once, it's way more sensitive to unnatural links. Mass backlinks just reinforce that signal. You need to improve trust on site and give it time, recovery like this is slow. Stop PBNs, audit your backlinks, remove or disavow the worst ones, and switch to real links like brand mentions and legit sites.

mass backlinks and PBNs are not helping. go into search console and disavow the attack links and link farms.

rebuild links the slow way. guest posting, HARO, digital PR. slow but steady.

You were accelerating before, but now you need to regain control of the car before speeding again. Even if Google whitelisted your site, there’s usually a kind of “trust probation” where everything is watched more closely. Building 100 PBNs right after that just signals risky behavior again. I’d stop trying to push rankings for now. Focus on stabilizing trust , audit your top pages, improve internal linking, and clean things up.
Don’t try to rank aggressively yet… focus on earning trust back first.

You’re basically digging yourself a deeper hole by spamming PBNs right now. Google is already suspicious of the domain, so throwing a bunch of low-quality links at it is just screaming "manipulation." Back off the link building, focus on cleaning up the existing profile and maybe get some legit traffic through socials or ads to show Google real users are actually visiting. It’s a marathon, not a sprint.

I’ll be blunt the problem isn’t the old flag anymore, it’s what you’re doing now.
Building 100 PBN backlinks is likely hurting you more than helping. Google rarely “holds a grudge” after reinstating a site, but it will suppress sites with unnatural link patterns.
If you want to recover: stop the mass backlinks, audit and disavow toxic links, clean up your link profile, and focus on real content + legit links.
Right now it’s less “Google penalty hangover” and more “Google doesn’t trust these signals anymore.”

Throwing mass backlinks and 100 PBNs at it after being flagged might actually be doing more damage. Google just got your attention, so now's definitely the time for legit, high-quality content and really natural authority building

Getting whitelisted after a manual action doesn't mean Google fully trusts you again. The algorithmic signals that got damaged during the flag period don't automatically reset when the manual penalty is lifted. That's why your traffic is stuck at 30% - the manual action is gone but the algorithmic distrust remains.
100 PBNs is not the right move here and might make things worse. If Google is already watching your site closely after the flag, blasting it with PBN links is a fast way to get another penalty, this time algorithmic which is much harder to recover from than manual.
What actually works for recovering trust after something like this - focus on brand signals. Get real mentions, real traffic from other sources, real engagement. Google needs to see that your site is a legitimate entity again, not just a site with lots of links pointing at it.
Also audit your existing backlinks. If competitors were doing negative SEO on you, there might still be toxic links pointing at your site. Disavow them properly.
Recovery from this kind of situation takes 6-12 months of doing the right things consistently. No shortcut.

Mass PBNs after a penalty usually make recovery harder stop aggressive link building and clean up toxic backlinks first.
Focus on rebuilding trust with quality content, relevant links, and gradual growth instead of trying to force rankings fast.

yeah that sucks man… once Google hits a site, even after recovery it kinda loses trust for a while. throwing 100 PBNs now might actually be hurting more than helping tbh.

i’d chill on links, clean up anything risky, focus on better content + a few real links… recovery takes time but going aggressive usually slows it down more.

It looks like the issue might be from the PBNs. I'd stop building links for now, clean up bad links, and focus on quality content and natural links. Recovery takes time.

It sounds tough, but honestly, doing mass backlinks + 100 PBNs might be making things worse, not better. Google usually penalizes that kind of activity, especially after a previous flag.

I’m kind of new to this, so I just wanted to understand a few things better. If my site was already reviewed and whitelisted again by Google, why is the traffic still so low? Does it take a long time for rankings to come back even after everything is fixed?

If your site got reviewed and approved again by Google, why doesn’t the traffic come back to normal? Does it usually take a long time to recover even after being whitelisted?

Mass PBNs won't fix it, might make it worse. Focus on cleaning link profile, improving content/trust signals, and building a few strong real backlinks. Recovery take times
