Is posting Stories daily still necessary?

I think stories are more important for keeping your audience engaged, not for growth.

Some creators post stories nonstop, others barely use them and still grow. Do stories actually impact reach or just audience retention?
As far as I know, Stories don't directly increase reach, but mainly help retain and maintain interaction with followers. They only provide indirect support; to significantly increase reach, you still need suggested content like reels/videos.

Stories don’t really boost reach directly — they’re more about warming your audience.
– Feed/Reels bring new people in
– Stories keep them engaged and build trust
Creators who skip stories can still grow, but those who use them well usually convert better.

Stories dont boost reach much for new people. They keep current followers warm and engaged. Post them if you already have audience not as main growth tool.

Posting stories daily on Instagram profiles is not a necessity but can include this to notice other users of own profile with new story post always,it is not that effective like uploading reels and pictures.

Instagram Stories are a double-edged sword. If you use them well, they engage people and can even help your regular posts reach a wider audience. But if you only post for a specific audience, you bore people and it's pointless. The key is finding a balance and creating interesting stories so people want to keep watching your content. There's no magic formula.

Stories are still useful for retention so it does help keep you visible to your followers, but it doesn't really drive growth as much as Reels do. Daily posting helps, not mandatory though.

Short answer, no.

If you have a mid sized community, it's not necessary. A few times per week is fine.

I don’t think daily stories are necessary anymore. They’re useful for staying visible and building a connection. Growth usually comes from other formats or platforms like tiktok or youtube shorts

Depends on your niche, but stories still matter, just not for reach, algorithms don't push them to new people. They're more about keeping your existing audience warm and engaged daily. If you're focused on growing, Reels/Shorts will do more. Stories are for retention and direct connection with followers you already have.

Stories don't really impact reach on Instagram anymore, that ship sailed a few years ago. Reach comes from Reels and feed posts now. Stories is purely a retention and warmup tool - it keeps your existing audience engaged and primes them to interact with your next post.
The accounts that grow without stories are growing because of their feed/reels content, not despite skipping stories. Stories just helps convert that reach into loyal followers who actually care.
Where daily stories does matter - if you're selling something. Warm audience that watches your stories regularly converts way better than cold followers who only see your posts occasionally. So for monetization stories is still worth doing, for pure growth numbers it's optional.

Posting Stories is still useful for retaining followers and keeping you visible, but it doesn't really drive growth as aggressively as Reels.

Posting stories daily are necessary to get notify of ready live profiles and it does cause many effect on other profiles to like or follow certain stories post page.

Mostly not, however if you have a way of doing them easily why not do it, it helps with retention if nothing else

As far as I know, Stories are usually viewed by people who have already followed you, helping you reach new users.

You need to create the engagement, you need people to know you're active.

Else how are they gonna interact with you? Stories are important because any kind of engagement is a goldmine for the algo.

It really just depends on your vibe and what you're trying to get out of it, some people barely touch 'em and blow up anyway, but they're super key for keeping your existing audience totally obsessed and engaged, not necessarily for boosting your reach to new folks

Yes stories help; however it is when you repost them during the 1-5 hour period after posting is when it really has an effect. It does after as well; but its really good to post them during the initial 1-5 hour period.
