What’s the safest way to run multiple Instagram accounts?

I use separate proxies for each account and keep actions slow to look natural. Logging in from different devices or profiles also helps avoid bans.

Great question, @Davidlawson This is something a lot of people overlook when scaling on Instagram. The safest way usually comes down to a mix of:

  • Separate device/browser setups (or mobile proxies) so accounts don’t get flagged under the same fingerprint.
  • High-quality proxies – residential or mobile > cheap datacenter ones.
  • Account warming – grow them slowly, avoid heavy automation early.
  • Action diversity – don’t copy-paste the same behavior across all accounts.

Really appreciate you starting this thread, David. Even experienced IG marketers sometimes forget the basics and lose accounts, so it’s a valuable discussion.

Everyone talks about anti-detect browsers and proxies, but they forget that you can't add links to your stories on a browser, and you don't have many of the features you get on a phone—which makes it good for nothing but creating spammy crap accounts, not for maintaining a cool

Using multiple devices is the safest but most troublesome and costly way. It is best to use an anti detection browser and add a high-quality proxy that can simulate any number of devices, which is actually much safer than using many phones or computers.
The cost of a single mobile proxy per month is $100–$150; for 10 accounts, you’d have to spend over $1,000 a month—I guess phones are cheaper

Man you bumped up a thread from August 2025. Please don't do it because the mods here don't like it.

Use a good mobile or home proxy, and run each account in an undetectable browser, one IP address per profile.

Mobile emulation is the best, more scalable than a farm and safer than simple browser emulation or API use.

Onimator and Su are still working. If I'm not mistaken, some of them offers phone emulation or something like that.

It can work to use a rotating proxy and switch IPs between each connection, just make sure the IP prefix doesn't stay the same. For example, this is bad:

91.210.120.5 -> 91.210.120.46 -> 91.210.120.93 Those are all from the same block and can be detected easily but still I'd avoid going more than 3 accounts on the same proxy. Ideally, use IPs from different networks, for example. So use a good rotating mobile or residential proxy.

Start slowly to warm up the account: just scroll randomly, avoid doing too many actions during the first 10 days, and then ramp up activity gradually then you can try sharing post.

Take your time. Don't rush things.

Running multiple Instagram accounts safely in 2025 requires a combination of device management, proxy use, and behavioral best practices to avoid bans, action blocks, and shadowbans. Here’s the safest setup based on current trends and Instagram’s detection methods:
1. Device & IP Management (Critical)
Option A: Separate Physical Devices (Most Secure)
Use different phones (iOS or Android) for each account.
Assign unique mobile data (4G/5G proxies) per device.
Best for: High-value accounts (e.g., business, agency clients).

Option B: Virtual Devices (Cost-Effective)
Android Emulators (e.g., BlueStacks, LDPlayer) + anti-detect browser (e.g., Dolphin Anty, Gologin).
iPhone Emulation: Use iPogo or 3uTools for iOS-like behavior.
Best for: Bulk account management (5–50+ accounts).

Option C: Anti-Detect Browsers (For Scaling)
Tools like Multilogin, Incognition, or Hidemyacc to spoof unique fingerprints.
Works best with residential proxies (avoid datacenter IPs).

2. Proxy Setup (Avoid IP Bans)
Residential Proxies (Best) – Luminati, Smartproxy, or RSocks.
Mobile 4G/5G Proxies – Even safer (e.g., Oxy Labs, IPRoyal).
Avoid: Free proxies, VPNs, or datacenter IPs (Instagram flags these).
Rule: 1 IP = 1–2 accounts max (if doing aggressive actions).

3. Account Warm-Up (Avoid Action Blocks)
First 3–7 Days:
Just log in, scroll feed, like 1–2 posts/day.
No follows/unfollows, DMs, or posting.
Days 7–14:
Gradually increase activity (5–10 follows/day).
Post 1–2 low-risk Stories.
After 2 Weeks:
Safe to scale (but stay under 30–50 actions/hour).

4. Behavioral Safety (Avoid Shadowbans)
Avoid Spammy Actions:
No mass-following/unfollowing (>100/day is risky).
No copy-pasted comments/DMs.
Mimic Human Behavior:
Randomize time between actions (e.g., 30 sec – 5 min gaps).
Use realistic typing speed in DMs.
Posting Safely:
Don’t reuse the same captions/hashtags across accounts.
Avoid banned hashtags (check here).

5. Tools for Automation (If Needed)
Jarvee (RIP) → Dead, do not use.
Safer Alternatives:
Instadub (low-key, private tool).
Custom bots (Python + Instagrapi) – If you know coding.
Mobile automation (AutoClickers) – Works but risky.

6. Recovery & Backup Plan
Verify Emails/Phones (use SIM cards or VoIP like TextNow).
Store Session Cookies (in case of login issues).
If Flagged:
Stop all actions for 48 hours.
Switch IPs and clear cache.

Final Recommendations
Use Case Best Setup
1–5 accounts Separate phones + 4G proxies.
5–20 accounts Anti-detect browsers + residential proxies.
50+ accounts Dedicated server + mobile proxies + custom bot.

Biggest Mistakes to Avoid:
Using the same IP for multiple accounts.
Skipping warm-up period.
Over-automating (Instagram detects bot-like patterns).

If you follow this setup, you can safely run 10–100+ accounts without bans.
gpt but legit :D

I want to run several Instagram accounts at the same time, but I don’t want to get banned or flagged.
What’s the safest setup in 2025? Should I use different phones, proxies, or tools?
I’m looking for tips on how to keep accounts secure and avoid action blocks or shadowbans.
If you’re running multiple IG accounts successfully, I’d really appreciate your advice.
use an anti detect browser like adspower or multilogin paired with high quality 4G/5G mobile proxies to keep each account fingerprint completely isolated

lilyah nailed it on browser-only being useless for real ig growth. no story links, dms stripped, cant maintain anything serious with it
middle ground for us (small agency) was cloud phones through multilogin. aandroid devices in the cloud so ig reads full device signals and every app feature works. running 14 ig accs + 4 tt shops on it for ~8 months, no mass bans.

physical phones cheaper per unit sure, but sims + chargers + someone actually picking each one up to post kills it past ~5-6 accs imo
