I doubt it will count as legit downloads. Once the VA's downloaded it more than twice on a single mobile phone, it would probably not count as it will look for unique stats.
As far as I am aware, the way big businesses get downloads is by hiring companies who have 100 phones+ at their disposal. They understand the fundamentals.
You just need the 'initial boost' of downloads to get traction and get it seen or ranked on the android/apple stores. After that, people will naturally download the app as people are curious by nature.
You could potentially look into using VPN's on a single phone, but it depends on the Apple/Android store. They may have processes in place that detect VPN's.

- Reach out to influencers who have 1k-10k followers. Offer a feature in the app or a cross-promotion than cash.
- Become a helpful member of subreddits and discord servers, or even facebook groups related to the app’s niche. Only use a mention when someone expresses interest which means you will need a spreadsheet of where you post and check every day. Be helpful, but do not spam as it leads to your account getting banned.

ads are okay if ur margin is high but organic stuff works better long term. try sharing in groups and places where people already want apps.

0.10 is a very small amount unless you are somewhat famous and have a large and loyal audience on social media. If you are an ordinary person, you should not accept a price lower than 0.50 per download, otherwise you will be putting in a lot of effort for a small financial return.

$0.1 per download is very low and can only work in churn and burn projects like parasite marketing. If you have legit followers on social media, you'll need higher amounts to promote something like app downloads. Promoting through ads cost you even more unless you're sending trash traffic like popups which will have terrible conversions. Overall, it's better to focus on free traffic to get good returns or at least not to lose money.
