What still works : smaller, tighter sites + real topical clusters + controlled links, not mass spam , adapt or you’ll keep getting wiped every update

I'm not feeling much of an impact so far. In my experience, whenever Google makes a big show about 'targeting' a specific tactic with a dedicated announcement, it's often more of a scare tactic than a surgical strike. Historically, when they actually want to kill a strategy, they don't give us a heads-up—they just bake it silently into a Core Update and let the sites drop without a word.

I'm still livid from the 2024 december spam update... Which made parasite SEO king in my entire niche, the remainder was eaten up by the top 10 sites in the industry, even if the search isn't relevant to the page.

I rarely read those guidelines. I used to read all of it, but I still end up doing the same strategy, building links nonstop lol. The only change I’ve made is switching from spinners to LLMs, unchecking all the kitchen sink engines like trackbacks, and not using default fields in automation anymore.

Google didn't come up with anything particularly new. They've simply learned to spot patterns better and faster than before.
The main thing that has changed is that weak pages lose visibility much faster. It's no longer a matter of method, but of how consistent the signals are. Pages with decent topical support and a couple of strong links hold up. Isolated pages crumble. And this is happening noticeably faster than a year ago.

I still do parasitic SEO and barely none of my sites have been touched. Sure they may say that but what is actually happening? Google doesnt care about ai content as long as its good and its holds value for the reader. Thats the only thing that matters. Its more about low bounce rate, higher # of pageviews, on site time. There is alot of pushback from readers cause they dont want ai content so EEAT does help. All the platforms are dealing with an explosion of content right now and trying to figure out how to deal with all of it. Competition is fiercer than ever before.

people will adapt, find new angles, same as always… give it few weeks and new methods will pop up
