No, I was more ill in my childhood and teens
Same here, actually. I used to get sick all the time when I was younger.
Now it’s less about getting ill and more about random things like back pain or low energy showing up for no reason.
Feels like we traded frequent sickness for weird “updates” nobody asked for.
"Also, why do we walk into a room and instantly forget why we’re there?"
this question gives me chills... Listen my story regarding this:
So last summer I was at my lake house with my whole family, and me and my blood brother (who is working with me) asked me this question when we were chilling and drinking beer. And I was prepared for something smart from him, like he dug out some explanation for it or some shit... And dude said to me as an answer on that question, "Well there was an alien in that room and he erased your memory". I was speechless at the moment, every now and then I remember this, I guess we had too many beers.

that’s actually hilarious
You were expecting some deep scientific explanation, and he just went full sci-fi mode like “yeah bro… aliens did it.”
Honestly, after a few beers, that answer probably made perfect sense at the time, too
Now every time I forget something, I’d be like… yeah, they got me again
some psychopaths, somewhere, messing with the Earth's magnetic field and beaming humans from satellites and whatnot. You know, the usual villain stuff that you see in movies, except that this time is real...

bro this went from “I forgot why I entered the room” to full movie plot real quick
Next step, you’ll be like “yeah, my memory lagged because someone adjusted the global frequency.”
At this point, I’m just gonna accept it… Either I’m getting older, or a secret villain is pressing random buttons on my brain
Both explanations sound equally valid some days
Pretty sure it’s not aging… just my brain running too many background apps with zero RAM left

exactly
Brain be like: 27 tabs open, 5 crashed, 3 playing music somewhere… and I still can’t find where it’s coming from
Then you walk into a room, and the system just freezes
At this point, we don’t need memory… we need a restart button
It honestly feels like a bit of both like yeah we’re aging, but also my brain definitely has some bugs and too many tabs open at once.
Yeah, that’s probably the most accurate answer
A little bit of aging… and a lot of “system overload” going on
Like, the hardware is getting older, but we’re also running way more apps than we used to
No wonder the brain just goes “nah, I’m done” and forgets why we walked into the room
