Hello, we’ve been running ads for a home appliance repair service on Google Ads for quite some time. Our keywords used to get approved without any issues, but with recent updates, they’ve started getting restricted. For example, when we add “Arçelik” (a home appliance brand in Turkey) as a keyword, we get a trademark restriction error, yet our competitors are able to continue advertising with these keywords. There are 5–6 brands like this—either none of the keywords are approved for any of them, or all of them are approved. We’re using older, established accounts, but that isn’t solving the issue.

Trademark authorization in Turkey for brands like Arçelik requires you to apply directly through Google's trademark authorization form , your competitors likely got authorized as certified repair partners. Contact the brand's official service department and get written authorization, then submit it to Google through the trademark complaint portal and you'll get whitelisted same as them.
hello, thank you for your response. Since we are not an authorized service center, how can we obtain this approval? And does a single approval remove the restriction for all brands? Because the restriction isn’t limited to just the word “Arcelik”—it also applies to “Arcelik,” “Beko,” “Bosch,” “Siemens,” and “LG.”

You should think about cloaking. Regarding your keywords, try to tone them down a bit or run them with some warm up first and then adjust your keywords to the BH ones.

Hello, they don’t use a cloaker, but their accounts get suspended every 7 to 10 days. However, they simply buy another old account and use a method that seems like a magic wand, allowing them to get listings for all keywords without any issues.

Trademark restrictions hit differently per account and sometimes per GEO even with older accounts competitors can bypass if they have verified business pages, consistent website signals, or special approval

Workarounds: request Google brand permission if possible, use broader service keywords instead of brand names, or structure campaigns around problem‑solving queries (e.g., “oven repair near me”) to avoid direct trademark blocks
I think they’re able to get approval that effectively removes all brand-related restrictions by appearing to follow the rules—or perhaps they don’t face any restrictions at all. In the past, no one used to use a business logo but now everyone who can run ads on those keywords has a favicon.

That’s normal, trademark terms get blocked at ad text level unless you’re authorized, competitors are either approved resellers or slipping through review, so bid on the keywords but keep the brand out of your ad copy or request authorization.

you will need to adjust to compliant keyword variations or get proper authorization because relying on inconsistencies usually gets your account restricted sooner or lat
er

google tightened trademark enforcement lately so approvals depend more on advertiser authorization and landing page context not just account age

competitors usually either have brand permission or structured ads as repair service not official brand claims so adjust ad copy and landing pages to clearly state independent service instead of brand affiliation
Hello, do you think the issue is entirely related to the website?

Is it being blocked in the ad text or the keyword itself? Create the document and submit it to obtain th

Yeah, this happens because Google is stricter with brand names now. Competitors might have older campaigns or approvals. I usually just use generic keywords like “washing machine repair” and mention the brand in the ad text.
