Hey guys,
I've been looking into domain flipping lately and wondering if it's still a viable side hustle in 2026 or if that ship has already sailed.

noodles.ie is available at the minute

if that doesn't tell ya something...

i'd love to set up one of those coffeeshop trailers at trainstations etc with noodles.ie as a domain

still possible but harder now

good names are taken and buyers are picky. quick flips are rare unless you find strong niche names

Domain flipping still has legs, especially in AI and SaaS-related niches. The issue is most people try to flip generic names. Specificity and niche-relevance is where the real value is right now.
What tools would you recommend using

The market has definitely changed, and it looks like the gold rush is over. Nowadays, domain flipping only makes sense if you’re targeting very narrow niches or domains with real traffic and history (backlinks). Just today, I was analyzing a domain from a defunct SMM panel: it had 300k pages indexed, but the Trust Flow was only 1. It’s a 'junk' domain being passed off as something valuable.
In 2026, simply buying a catchy name and waiting for a buyer is a waste of time. Now, it’s a game for those who understand SEO metrics or are ready to use drop-catching services. The ship hasn't sailed, but it’s no longer a pleasure yacht — it’s high-stakes commercial fishing.

It’s still possible, but you need to focus on quality domains and trends. Cheap or random domains don’t sell like before.

still viable but the market bifurcated hard — garbage $10 hand-regs are a waste of time, but anything with existing backlink equity or a clean expired domain with DA 20+ can still flip for 10-30x if you're patient enough to find the right buyer. i moved three domains last year averaging $1,400 each, all found through expireddomains.net with filters most people ignore.

Could you recommend filters that are worth paying attention to?

Domain squatters ruined the game. You'd hardly find any domain worth flipping. People ask premium prices for domain names that sound brandable, but it's only worth what's someone is willing to pay for it. People just make up an alternate name and move on instead of chasing the exact match domain name they're looking for.

yeah domain flipping still works in 2026, but only few domains sell, need good names, patience, and holding costs; still can make money if treated like real business, not quick cash.

Still works but not easy money now. You need good expired domains with real traffic or brand feel. Random hand regs wont sell anymore.

It’s still viable, but way harder now. The easy money is gone—now it’s all about quality domains, trends, and patience.

Still worth it if you know what you're doing, but the lazy hand-reg gold rush is dead.
In 2026 it's mostly expired domains, niche relevance, backlink history, and patience.
