Writing articles is not just about information but also about keeping readers interested.
From your experience, what elements make an article more engaging for readers?

The article need to fulfill the user intent. Broadly there are 4 user intent informational, navigational, transactional and commercial. This is the most important factor that makes article engaging.

From my experience, the biggest engagement boosters are a killer curiosity hook in the first few lines, super short paragraphs (2-3 lines max), storytelling with real numbers, and bold subheads that promise quick value—readers stay when it feels fast, personal, and rewarding.

From my experience, an engaging article usually combines useful information with a clear and easy-to-follow structure. Breaking the content into smaller sections with headings helps readers scan the article quickly and stay interested.

Storytelling or real examples can also make a big difference because readers tend to connect more with practical experiences than just theory. I’ve also noticed that adding simple visuals, bullet points, or short paragraphs keeps the article from feeling too heavy.

Finally, writing in a natural tone and focusing on solving a specific problem for the reader often makes the content much more engaging.

hit their pain points or curiosity with a killer hook and use bullet points to keep it skimmable

In my case, the title needs to be like a headline which is tempting enough to be clicked, while at the same time being relevant to the user's search intent, but without being clickbait. Actually, 50% of the hustle is won here.
Ofcourse, an article must be of high value with some unique insights, etc rather than some common knowledge which is otherwise easily available almost everywhere.

You need to maintain engaging tone. If you cover the intent of the keyword and conversational type tone it would help you get better attraction to search engine.

attention is scarce these days, every line of text should sell the next, like a never-ending scrolling on social media

Okay, for me, an article totally clicks when it feels less like a dry info dump and more like a real chat. It's all about relatable stories, a killer hook right up top, and practical value that makes readers feel like they just unlocked a secret, that's what keeps them hooked till the end

For me, it is simple and easy to read content , clear structure , short paragraphs and real examples make it more engaging, boring text loses attention fast.

You have to have them curious about the article and have good structure in your writing (proper short paragraphs) etc. Also storytelling is essential if you want to produce high quality articles.

My views as reader - Sticky Table of Content :) - with correct HTML tags (h1,h2,h3 etc)
