Is Facebook still good for organic reach?

Organic reach is definitely lower than before, but it’s not dead. Groups and short video posts still get decent engagement if the content is interesting and consistent.

Yes, organic reach on Facebook has decreased, but many pages and groups still achieve good engagement if they use the right strategy.

The honest answer is that facebook organic reach is very limited in 2026 but not completely dead, current data shows that facebook pages reach only about three to five percent of their followers organically without paid promotion, this is a deliberate strategy from meta to drive ad revenue, as the platform makes money when businesses pay for visibility, the days of reaching most of your followers for free are long gone for almost all businesses.

That said organic reach is still possible if you focus on the right content types and strategies, short form video like Reels gets priority from the algorithm and can reach people who don't even follow your page yet, live video also holds strong reach compared to standard photo posts, content that sparks real conversation in the comments section gets pushed harder because facebook wants to keep users engaged on the platform, posts that ask questions or invite opinions tend to perform better than simple announcements.

reach is low on pages now. groups still get decent organic engagement. paid boosts help if you need bigger audience.

Organic reach has decreased, with only long-standing groups able to maintain good conversion rates; for new groups, engagement is almost zero.

Related to FB groups well the engagement is still good. I don’t have a group but I’m using some to get subscribers to my business.
Related to FB pages (I have 5) the organic growth decreased but since I’m using them as an extra source of traffic they’re good enough for me.
So they’re not dead, yet :) but not like they used to be a couple of years ago.

Yes, Facebook organic reach has dropped a lot more than before. But it’s not completely gone. But quality content get good reach and engagement.

Yeah, organic reach on Facebook dropped a lot. Most pages now reach only 1–2% of their followers without ads.

The algorithm favors Reels, videos, and personal content, so normal posts get less visibility.

Organic reach isn’t what it used to be, but it still works if the content gets quick engagement. Videos, reels, and posts that start conversations usually perform better.

Organic reach is now more difficult and less common than it was 1-2 years ago; paid advertising remains the only way to attract a large audience.

Many people say organic reach on Facebook has dropped over the years.
For those managing pages or groups, are you still getting good organic engagement?
I manage a page with entertainment content and I see that everything is still normal with no significant changes. It may be that the content posted is not engaging enough to attract interactions, rather than being caused by changes from Facebook.

Organic reach on Facebook has dropped to just 1-2%, with the algorithm prioritizing Reels and videos.

Tbh. Facebook organic reach isn’t anywhere close to what it used to be. back in the day you could post on a page and a big chunk of your followers would actually see it in their feed. now it feels like only a tiny slice of them do, unless the post starts getting a lot of likes/comments right away...
from what a lot of page admins say, most posts only hit maybe 1–5% of their followers organically. the algorithm mostly pushes stuff from friends, active convos, or posts that get engagement fast. that’s why a lot of people say Facebook basically turned into pay-to-play over the years..

Natural interaction is still possible, but it's harder than before. Content has to be truly relevant and valuable to attract reach; posting overly promotional content will immediately cause a drop in engagement.

Posting regularly with content that sparks real conversation (questions, polls, or community-focused posts) helps & Groups seem to have slightly better organic reach than another

Organic reach on Facebook is definitely not what it used to be. Most pages see very low reach unless the content gets strong engagement early (comments, shares, reactions).
However, it’s still possible if you focus on things like short videos, reels, and highly engaging posts. Facebook seems to push video content more than normal text or link posts.
For most businesses though, organic alone is very hard now. Usually the best strategy is combining organic content + paid ads to really scale.

Of course, the algorithm still delivers valuable content to those who need it, and it's still good if you focus on valuable content.

Organic reach is still good if the post is from a personal profile, since Facebook prioritizes friends’ content over Pages.

I'm still doing well by posting high value content for my viewers.
