Shinjiru is holding domains hostage

I’m posting this to warn others and to see if anyone here has experienced something similar.

I transfered my domain to Shinjiru, paid their transfer fee, and shortly after, the domain was placed in ClientHold status, which means I couldn’t update nameservers to redirect it to another domain, basically the domain is locked.

When I contacted Shinjiru, they told me they are only resellers and do not have control over doman suspension!!

Which is weird as I have heard lot of good things about them on this forum, anyways, they told me they will contact their registrar for an update.

… 2 weeks has passed, still no update.

Each time I ask them, they tell me they have received no update yet.

Until one day, they told me their registrar answered which is actually TLDRegistrarsolutions.com, and that they have marked my domain as “Phishing”, which makes no sense.

And they have failed to provide any other explanation why this happened.

Any time I send an email to them, I get the same response:

“We are still waiting for an update from our registrar.”

No explanation, no timeline, nothing.

My advice to other BHW members:

If you are considering Shinjiru for domains, please be aware of this issue.

I just found out my competitor has also had this same issue from Internet.bs (which is also owned by TLDRegistrarSolutions).

If anyone has dealt with this issue, please share your experience.

Shinjiry has a really bad support... I'm sorry about your issue. I had domains there... Never again.

I can't imagine how pissed I'll be that they suspend it not long after you transferred it to them. Had a domain with them in the past and when I tried transferring it out, they deliberately made it hard to get it out... Try Trustname, reg ru, nic ru, or NameISP next time. Good luck!

Building on the issue with Shinjiru, I've also had domains with them in the past and experienced similar frustrations with their support, particularly when trying to transfer out. Switching to alternative registrars like Epik or Porkbun has been a game-changer for me, with much faster support response times and fewer issues with domain locking. One key thing to note is that Epik has a more transparent process for handling domain disputes and suspensions, which can help avoid the kind of "hostage" situation you're describing, and they also offer a free domain locking service to prevent unauthorized transfers.

clienthold usually comes from registry/registrar abuse flags, not the reseller, but shinjiru should still give you the exact reason + what proof they need to clear it. ask them for the full abuse ticket details (who flagged it, date/time, exact “phishing” evidence, and the registrar’s required steps to lift the hold). if they can’t provide that in writing, i’d file an icann registrar complaint and start a transfer-out as soon as the hold is lifted.

Yes its ridiculous what they do to you, they are now holding my domain hostage with no explanation.
You should tell them that you'll report this everywhere. Put some pressure on them.

I transfered to shinjiru.com website.
I mean, who is your registrar? You moved to SHINJIRU. Shinjiru owns ilovewww. In short, which registrar is holding the domain on the behalf of Shinjiru?

i thought shinjuru's after sales is good enough, a friend of mine have several website hosted there
