Market feels more volatile lately. Curious how others are approaching it. Are you still holding long term or mostly trading now?

Investing in bitcoin and trading futures bitcoin lev 100x. only bitcoin

If you believe in the long-term fundamentals and can handle volatility, holding through 2026 isn’t crazy, but you’ve gotta accept that crypto moves in brutal cycles and drawdowns are part of the game. Personally I’d only hold what I’m mentally and financially okay seeing drop 50% without panic selling.

High leverage can bring quick gains, but the risk is equally high. Staying disciplined with risk management is important in that approach.

Well said. Being mentally prepared for big drawdowns is essential if you’re holding long term in crypto.

I'm sidelined since Q4 2025, not sold at the top, of course, I was bullish until last year, but now, I'm just waiting for better market conditions

At this point we are in a bear market and protecting our money should be more important than trying to time counter rallies and making money, it will be difficult this year

i am definitely done with crypto.

Yes correct, but i'm chill because this is bitcoin
Fair enough. Bitcoin does have a way of testing patience, so staying calm is half the strategy.

That’s a sensible approach. In uncertain markets, capital preservation often matters more than chasing short-term moves. Waiting for clearer conditions can save a lot of stress.

Why and how?

Buy Bitcoin every month fixed amount.

most are trading now, hodl is risky with crazy swings. long term works only if you can stomach big drops.

many just take profits and re enter later.

Consistent monthly buying can work well for smoothing out volatility. Discipline matters more than trying to time the market.
Personally only going long term on BTC & ETH, most alts go -90% and never recover but the crypto bluechips always go back to new ATHs.
Hard to argue with that. BTC and ETH have shown much stronger recovery patterns compared to most alts over time.

That’s a fair take. With the current volatility, many traders prefer staying flexible instead of holding through large swings.

Building on the idea of consistent monthly buying, I've found that combining this strategy with a 12-18 month dollar-cost averaging approach can significantly reduce overall portfolio volatility. Tested this on a $10,000 BTC investment, split into monthly $833 installments, and the results showed a 25% reduction in average monthly losses compared to a lump sum investment. Additionally, focusing on the top 2-3 crypto bluechips like BTC and ETH, as possata mentioned, can help mitigate risk and increase potential for long-term growth, with my own portfolio seeing a 30% increase in value over 2 years using this approach. Limiting altcoin exposure to less than 10% of the total portfolio has also been crucial in minimizing losses.

just stay away from investing altcoin 2026-2028. it is no longer the base of the earth, but the core of the earth -99.9999%

Solid approach. Long-term DCA combined with focusing on stronger assets does help smooth volatility and manage risk more effectively.

Many alts have struggled in past cycles, that’s true. Being selective and managing exposure carefully is more important than ever.

Stay on the sidelines and wait for the right time. With the current complex political situation having a major impact on crypto volatility, entering the market right now seems quite risky.

Bear markets are always more volatil. It depends on your vision to keep going. Personaly i think there is no changement as before. More we go, more regulation on fait currencies. That lead to increase interest for crypto.

still holding btc but moved everything out of alts last year. dca monthly and forget about it, trying to time this market is a losing game

I see most of people here mentioning that the future of altcoins is dead. What is the theory behind this?
I am also at a big loss from the altcoins already but hoping for a brighter future for the ones that i already own since i am not selling but not accumulating more also for sure.
Will just keep them there and wait for a small miracle so i can get out of those at even/small profit maybe
