Curious to hear from anyone who has purchased Google My Business reviews, what was your experience? Did it lead to any penalties or account suspensions?

Hello,

Paid GMB reviews are risky. You might see a short-term boost, but there’s a real risk of penalties or account suspension.
It’s best to focus on organic, genuine reviews.

Hi! @denzielnanda

Buying fake GMB doesn't work anymore after 2026 update and of course there are higher chances of getting the review removed and getting a warring/penalty.

The only thing works now is outreach to real clients for genuine feedback along with improving your online reputation management sector.

Best Regards

From my experience, review consistency matters more than quantity.

Profiles that get reviews gradually over time look more natural and tend to perform better in local rankings. Sudden spikes sometimes trigger filters or get removed.

Also, engagement on reviews (replies, updates, activity) seems to help visibility a lot.

Buying fake reviews is basically a death sentence for your seo because google's algorithm catches them super fast. It's not worth the risk of getting your account suspended and losing all that hard-earned local ranking for nothing.

There's a new method people are using currently but it won't exceed more than 10reviews, it would stay and won't affect business page.

I am managing a local business GMB and marketing and faced a challenge when i recieve email regarding reviews from google and they have deleted almost 499 reviews out of 2558

Dont buy fake GMP reviews. I dont think you get penalties as such like other UGRs. But they are unstable, drop over time and illegal in most countries now. So there may not any direct issues as such, but may have issues when the reviews drop from 450 to 250 overnight. Consider this like loosing 50% of your good link overnight. Indirect Ranking impact would be there

1. Outreach Real customer
2. Reward recurring clients with a cash voucher or a discount voucher
3. Build rapport with them

But i understand, lot of times 7 in 10 would instantly post a negative review if they had a bad experience but only 1 in 10 would post a 5 star if they had a positive experience

If you are a physical store, have those stickers with a QR code. We had those in all our stores, and we always had a QR to review even on tradeshows, and other outdoor events we participated.

If you are an online only business you are only left with SMS, WhatsApp and EMail outreach. But you need maintain a record and filter out the ones that wouldnt like to be bothered again.

Buying is the worst thing you can do with your GMB.

just make your service a little bit better and get some real reviews. You can also try optimization and ORM for your GMB if you want to.
