Newbie from Ghana | Learning Traffic, SEO & Ethical Monetization

I’m Benedicta, a student from Ghana. I'm currently studying Science Laboratory Technology in Accra Technical University.

My interest in online earning started when I began exploring URL shorteners and ethical link monetization methods like Digitstem. I joined BHW to learn from experienced members about driving real traffic, SEO basics, and legitimate side hustles, especially those that work well in West Africa.

My short-term goals:
- To learn how to effectively (and ethically) promote shortened links.
- To understand SEO fundamentals to build small niche sites in the future.
- Share insights from testing different platforms in the Ghanaian/African digital space.

I’ve already spent some time reading through threads here, and I really like how straightforward and value-focused the discussions are. I’m here to learn, contribute where I can, and connect with others on a similar path.

Welcome to BHW. Ghana is nowadays a strongly growing economy. GDP expanded by 6.1% in the first three quarters of 2025, marking its fastest growth since 2019.
More economic activity should see more businesses being created and hence more demand for local SEO.

Welcome to BHW. I'm glad you already read some threads here. You can find a lot more no-nonsense threads about SEO and making money. Link shorteners are not working as good as they used to be due to adblockers and spam filters. You should move to parasites instead.

Thanks for the insight. I’ve heard parasites mentioned but haven’t dug in yet. Do you recommend any specific threads or guides here on BHW about getting started with them? I’m currently testing shorteners with social traffic, so shifting strategies might be the next step.

There are many threads for parasites. I can't recall a single elaborate guide. You can search here to find informational threads. The most popular one was about pdf parasites that went viral 4-5 years ago. Currently, Google is strict about parasites, so only a few are ranking but they are still working.

If you mastered social traffic, you can send it to a landing page for affiliate marketing too. It'll fetch you more revenue than link shorteners. Another option is to use content lockers with CPA. When a user completes an action, they can unlock the link. It'll get you around $0.5 to $5 on average if you have good traffic quality. Some offers go as high as $20+ but you need high quality tier-1 traffic for such high amounts. The more you dig here, the more strategies you'll discover.
