No, WP-robot does not pull just products and product reviews. Here is a list of 'modules' it has (from its website):

As you can see it has the ability to pull much more than products and product reviews...


As for the question of its legality, there is no real answer. What others have tried to explain is that wp-robot is only a tool, just like a gun is only a tool and both are not illegal. Now if you take your gun and go into a post office and shoot up the place you have now done something illegal. Just like if you take wp-robot and point it at copyrighted content to leech, you have also done something illegal.

What I am trying to say is that the legal issues do not have anything to do with wp-robot, it has to do with the copyright laws of the content you are getting.

Since only you have control of what content wp-robot is grabbing for you only you can say whether it is illgal to use.

Beyond that, seriously take the advice of the members above who mentioned NOT to take legal advice from people on forums. If you have a legal concern call a legal PROFESSIONAL. If you have an IM concern post here...

My bad I just checked the plugin and yes, it has a lot of things. I am only using it for Amazon though.

AutoBlogging software is as legal as P2P software...in other words, completely and totally legal. Where the illegality of it comes in, is with it's use.

Use P2P software to download copyrighted content, and you're breaking the law. Use it to download a movie your sister made on her camera that she wants to share with people across the globe...perfectly legal.

Use autoblog software that is only grabbing content that is legal to re-print elsewhere, perfectly legal. Use autoblog software that is grabbing content that is copyrighted and not legal for re-print/re-distrubition elsewhere...illegal.

In other words, autoblog software is inherently legal in and of itself. The legality of it comes in with it's use (and even then, it isn't the software that broke the law, it is the user).

Autoblogs are definitely legal. I've seen varying opinions about what to do on them.

Some people will tell you Google will ban your Adsense account with an auto blog. I personally would rather promote other affiliate programs with auto blogs just to make sure I don't lose my adsense account for it.

I have seen people who have had autoblogs for years that still have adsense on their sites. I guess it depends on how the autoblogs are setup and what appears on them.

OK, I was gonna skip over this but the thread is getting so many answers that it seems the actual context of the word illegal has been overlooked.

"Will I go to prison if I make a blog that automatically updates with content that is syndicated from others sites" ?

NOPE !!!

If you happen to use copyright meaterial and the owner says "hey stop that you bad person you" then all you need to do is remove THAT content.

Autoblogs are not illegal - PERIOD !!!!!

You will not go to prison for making, running or owning an autoblog - plain and simple guys.

If it was illegal then I guess that this thread here

Your web host will NOT cancel your hosting acount for having duplicate content on your site if they receive a complaint from the original source owner.

A little knowledge is a very dangerous thing - especially if you post in a public forum where others may actually believe you.
