Are fully dropped expired domains useful at all?

Dropped domains aren’t dead when rebuilt properly with strong topical relevance, a clean PBN site can still leverage live, authoritative links far more effectively than relying on DA metrics or quick, throwaway 301 redirects.

Not completely useless but not good either. If the backlinks are still live, indexed, and has clean anchors history it can be leveraged. Avoid choosing domains previously abused for PBN or spam even it has high DA.

If have good quality backlinks you can always make it work again but it need these backlinks to be active not like removed and dead. Check the status of those backlinks before you consider any drop domain...... and most important make sure are not spam links that may affect even worst your site compared with a new domain

trust me they are not huge companies monitor the droplist daily if that domain has any use they would have backordered it try to stick to market listings and droplist

I found some really nice expired domains with juicy backlink profiles from some heavy hitters (DA 90+). However, these domains are fully dropped and haven't had traffic in a few years. Can i still leverage them? PBN or 301? Or are they useless now that they're dropped (whois reset etc)

These domains have attracted a lot of interest, but they may have issues or be on a blacklist, so others skipped them, which is why you can still see them.

Yes, I have done it on video. The proof is in my Youtube channel. This was most recently done in December so it is very recent, I continue to work on the video series and will be showing the same process throughout the year.

In the video(s) I reference above, every domain I have registered has reindexed itself by simply putting the old content back online. Most have received an improvement in their third party stats (I know it is meaningless for ranking but helps if you want to sell the domain) and remain indexed.

Maybe I am just an absolute god at finding the best domains ever, but I genuinely don't think that at all. I just scrape domains, find the good ones and put them back online. It is so much simpler than many aspects of SEO, it seems braindead to me to buy a fresh or auction domain.

Fresh domains cost a ton in effort to get them indexed and ranking and auction domains are very expensive. Expired domains have the benefits of both fresh domains (cheap) and auction/reseller domains (backlinks and ranking benefits).

I’ve tested similar expired domains. The value often depends on how clean the backlink profile is and whether the previous niche matches yours. Some still have link juice, but traffic doesn’t automatically come back.

yes! Dropped domains can still work if backlinks are clean and relevent.
Use 301 Redirect for same niche or rebuild as a quality site ( no spammy PBN)
Don't trust DA only - check if links are still live and the domain was not abused before.
Clean expired domains can still give seo value if used smartly.

You can use those by implementing the same website and redirect to your main site or you can directly redirect the whole domain to your prefered website.

Yes recently dropped website is valuable if it has good backlink profile and doesn't have any penalty.

Even though the domains are fully dropped and have been sitting dead for years, those DA 90+ backlink profiles are still an absolute goldmine if you execute a meticulous, niche-relevant rebuild. Instead of a risky 301 redirect that could trigger a link-damping algorithmic filter, you should revive the site by restoring its top historically linked pages and turning it into a high-powered niche PBN or content asset. Googlebot will crawl the old URLs, see that the authoritative backlink juice is alive, and re-index the domain while passing that heavy equity back to your main site. Just make sure the new content seamlessly matches the domain’s historical identity so you don't raise any manual spam flags during the re-indexing phase.
