How did AI-overviews affect your CTRs?

I have a content website, where an AI overview appears for almost all keywords.
And most of my URL's ranking under top-10, but I'm barely getting any clicks at all.
How AI overview affect your CTRs? Please, share your screens from Search Console?

AI Overviews have slashed CTR for many informational queries, as users get answers directly on the SERP. For my sites, CTR for positions 1-3 dropped 30-50% on queries with active AI summaries. The only mitigation is targeting commercial/intent-driven keywords where Google still shows traditional results, and optimizing for rich snippets within the AI answer.

Same thing happened to my informational keywords as well. I barely have any clicks for them while the impressions are huge. Overall, I have around 10k impressions with almost 0 clicks for informational keywords. Google is eating everything. My overall CTR fell from 5% to 1.5-2% due to these AI summaries. Moreover, there is a huge shift into youtube and social media. So, people are not showing much interest in Google search. Some informational niches are dead as soon as AI summaries popped up. It's getting difficult to drive people to visit a website as Google keeps trying to retain them.

Hey! My advice would be to focus on content that AI can’t fully answer, like real human experience, personal insights, or unique case studies. That’s often what drives clicks and engagement, since people are looking for perspectives they can’t get from generic AI summaries.

standard ai helpful advice is a plague here lol . looking at ur screen , it’s the classic zero-click death spiral . info-intent is basically becoming googles proprietary training data
we saw our info-sites take a 60% click dump in q4 . we stopped trying to rank forhow to and shifted 100% to citation hijacking via the corroboration loop
if u want the clicks back , u gotta force ur way into the AI source cards . we do this by creating a data consensus across high-authority parasites (eddit /medium /news) . if gemini sees ur site mentioned as the source for a specific stat or fact on 3 independent platforms , it puts u in the citation card . thats the only spot left with a decent ctr on mobile
also check ur data-nosnippet tags . in a few tests we blocked the ai from pulling our text entirely . it forced the user to click through to see the full answer cuz the snippet was blank for the model but the page was still indexed . risky play for rankings but it saves the ctr for brand-loyal traffic
if ur niche is pure information and u aren't getting cited in the cards , u r just providing free training data for G . move to transactional or gtfo
