Quick question for Telegram users from different regions.

When you’re looking for Telegram groups — niche groups, local communities, promo or discussion groups — where do you usually search?

Telegram built-in search?
Websites that list Telegram groups?
Search bots inside Telegram?
Other platforms or communities?

Any language is fine.
I’m especially curious whether the methods differ between English and non-English regions.

Mostly Google searches like site:t.me + keyword, Telegram’s built in search for bigger groups and Reddit or niche forums for something more specific.

I used to try NiceHub bot on Telegram to search groups and channels based on keywords and country, but it did not have a large range to search

i usually just search on google and when i find link to interesting groups i just get into them. I'm more old school in this regard

this is interesting. can't wait for the responses. the ones i've joined were through yt channels.

Mostly I just search on telegram itself.
Sometimes I find lists on reddit or niche forums.

Bots work ok but they give a lot of dead links.

Of course, you can use Telegram search. Use different words or combinations of the same words, and you'll get different results.

I also use data parsing, which means I collect lists of target users from relevant channels and groups and then parse data from their profiles. Often, channel admins and owners can attach information about their channel to their profiles or post links to channels or groups in their bios.

There are also websites with detailed statistics for existing Telegram channels and groups.

I usually don’t rely on Telegram built-in search too much — it’s hit or miss. Most of the time I find groups via:
links shared inside other groups/channels , niche forums / Reddit / Twitter/X posts ,telegram directory websites, local communities tend to use local platforms (forums, WhatsApp/Facebook groups) and then share Telegram links from there
In non-English regions, I’ve noticed people rely way more on “word of mouth” and local social platforms, while English-speaking users use directories and Reddit more

In my experience you can find reputable telegram groups via Google search. Alternatively you can also use TG's search for specific groups that you want to join.
