Need help with a plan for casino

Hi guys,
Ive been lurking for backlinks. The casino site is from 2022 and has been doing revenue all from Articles.
Time has come that i want to bump it higher. Ive been looking into backlinks, but it feels like a huge jungle....

Chatgpt told me that i need atleast 40+ DR to rank? my question here is, i spoke to many backlink sellers, they want me to invest each month 500-900$, which i understand because they want to make money.

They also told me that i cant buy 2 links and then " throw in the towel " and buy again in 6 months for example, they said its best to buy each month.

Can you guys help me out here.... im using the budget im making from the casino affiliate to re invest again, but i cant spend 1000s$per month...

that's only half of the truth. The other half is that good sellers know what it takes to rank for certain keywords / in certain niches, so they've most likely given you an accurate estimate of what's working (and yes, backlinks nowadays are obscenely expensive, that's part of the reason why I stopped doing the SEO thing)

also true, because google are rewarding constantly working little bees that slave their lives away to keep google big and strong so they can steal everyone's content and data and monetize them behind their back. It's a vicious game with rules that are rigged in the favor of the owner (google).

On a technical note, google are looking for patterns in everything that they analyze, and if they find patterns that they deem "unnatural" (whatever unnatural means in this context) they will think that something's not right and (many times) will penalize the sites that are behaving "unnaturally". Which is why you want to keep building links endlessly instead of stopping and resuming every now and then (probably that google is comparing the sites that are doing such patterns against the sites that google are considering as white hat, ie. sites that are getting backlinks slowly but steadily over decades, and the links are all relevant, useful and spread out across multiple pages instead of just one or two pages like most newbies tend to do)

Hi brother, here is my idea as someone running an SEO agency focused on the iGaming niche (and yes, we also handle link building), i just sharing what’s actually worked from experience.

1) DR 40+ isn’t a rule​

It’s a safer guideline, but it’s not certain. People throw DR around a lot, but Google doesn’t rank DR. In iGaming, I’ve seen lower DR sites move if:

• the page matches intent perfectly
• the site has solid topical coverage
• links are relevant + clean

Goal: don’t rely on one metric. Mix higher DR + lower DR links in a natural way, and keep it balanced with:

• anchor text variation
• real traffic / relevance (not just DR)
• different link types
• spread across multiple pages

2) The “$500–$900/month” advice is half true​

I agree with what @tazarbm said about the pattern being the key:

The amount is up to you — as long as you know what you’re doing and you’re building with a plan. Personally, on iGaming projects, I often see budgets over $1,500/month even for “low-to-medium” campaigns (depends a lot on GEO + competition).

Goal: consistency matters more than doing big bursts. Build links based on a strict plan (pace + targets + page distribution), not random buys.

Final note​

Before you hire link providers, I’d strongly recommend learning how link building really works first.

Most sellers aren’t responsible for your rankings they’re responsible for delivering links. If you don’t know what to ask for, it’s easy to waste money on links that look good on paper but don’t move the needle.
