Question about Paypal disputes : Recuring VS one time payment

Hi,
I heard it was more complicated for buyers to win their dispute when they paid for a subscription service instead of one shot payments. Is it true?
I read smoewhere they can easily stop the subscription for the next months, but can't get a refund for the past months they already paid. Don't know if it's true.

I'm asking because I'd like to sell a service and I am wondering if I'll go with a one time payment, or a subscription, depending on the dispute income.
Service is good but there are always people cheating.

In general, yes, subscriptions tend to be harder for buyers to dispute compared to one-time payments, but refunds for previous months are less automatic unless there’s clear fraud or non-delivery. That’s why many people feel subscriptions are safer from a dispute standpoint

If you expect some bad actors either way, designing the service and communication cleanly matters more than choosing one model just to avoid disputes
