Since i am in the music streaming business and switched to phone boxes i do have A LOT of phones that do have downtime daily. Is it still viable/possible to mine crypto currency with them? I dont mean any scam app, but actually mine something that is worth it? I dont care which coin it is as long as it has value that later can be switched to something else.

Thank you for your thoughts,

Mining on Phones are not viable and won't make you money.

Cloud Mining won't make you money.

Mining is too expensive.

Mining is to expensive now. On a phone will not work ( i mean can work but you will pay more than what you get from minning) ..... just think about you compete with mining farm that have latest tehnology specific created for mining....... Even if you have a old phones you want to mine how you can beat the competitors considering they use nvidia chips for example or amd that is are on 2-3 nm with superior efficiency and they look where is the cheapest electricity to get them profitable. You can't compete with these specialized equipment!

Now, the mining of popular cryptocurrencies is dominated by giants. HOWEVER, if you find coins with growth potential, you might get lucky—it's called "finding a diamond." Statistically, honest mining is not profitable when it comes to top cryptocurrencies.

Since i do run the phoney anyways and make good money with them i thought i can use the 8-10h downtime a day to mine crypto.
As i said, i dont need it to be btc or eth, but any coin that has a market is fine.

And its also not about cost either, the phones do cost nothing as they are already paid, are running on 100% solar and are capable since they are Samsung flagship phones.

Its just about any hints what works well, and what doesnt :)

Even if your electricity were free, you’d be making pennies a day. You’re better off just buying Bitcoin or somethin

Have you heard of asic? It's roughly 1 million times faster than a mobile gpu or cpu, doesn't matter. Up to a million times, to be precise.

And while you have a couple phones, these folks have this

Not enough calculating power in the CPU to mine any significant coin. You could probably get away with mining some smaller cap projects and hoping they’ll lift off in price but overall it’s a long shot.

No . it’s not worth mining crypto wi. Many “phone mining” apps are pseudo-mining or reward farming

What are the specs on the phones?

Your best bet would probably be to find a coin yourself. If your setup is how you're describing then you basically have no expenses to recoup like a normal operation so most of these responses here don't apply to you. Even if you only made $0.50 a day it'd still be all profit since you phones are paid for and you're using solar to power them. I'd look for coins/tokens with asic-resistant algorithms and then find out what your hashrate would be and do the math on what you can expect to see. There's lots of mining calculator sites that can help with that. The responses about mining being over-saturated aren't wrong, so I wouldn't expect to make very much unless you have a pretty big operation, but like you said, you don't have any real operating costs to do this so it would be all profit. Good luck with it.

It is not profitable on the phones. Today you compete with large mining centers that use gpu and have low electricity costs...... You can't compete with that with your phone .... these mining rig don't make now a lot of coins as there is less and less coins to mine and is harder. Phone mining may work in the beginning when there was not competition but now is gone your unspecialized hardware can't even get enough money to pay the electricity it take to mine those crypto

phone device are good in mining crypto currency with available source to generate residual mining rig, there are options to use other devices but mobility of the device impose it's usage on others to achieve target mining rig.

Waste of time, they don't pay well, in many cases those apps can damage your phone and considering your energy costs, it will probably be just enough to breakeven or not even that

Crypto mining on phones is not viable anymore. Not even as “small passive income"

It is possible. You should looks for options for free or very cheap electricity to make it more profitable.

Most of the new coins are scam coins only. There is no opportunity to make any good money there even if they allow mining .
