Why RAMs price increased this much?
I am just curious, I bought 4 RAMs at least 8 months ago for $120+
Same RAMs are selling for $500+

RAM prices jumped due to chip shortages, high demand, and new DDR5 tech. That’s why the same sticks now cost way more than before.

I also bought 64GB DDR5 4 month ago for 250$ and now it's 750$, just shocked at these prices.

I am just thinking about those new online money makers who are willing to learn to make money online. How will they afford a PC? I also heard that many PC sellers are not selling any single stick of RAM, you have to buy the whole PC.

Yeah, it’s tough for beginners. With RAM and PC prices so high, a lot of people can’t just upgrade or build a rig. Some sellers are bundling parts into full PCs, which makes it even harder to start small. It’s really a barrier for new online earners.

Yeah, AI is the main thing, also US-China trade restrictions limited production capacity, also some manufacturers just stopped producing consumer DDR entirely, switching to HBM for AI servers instead.

I believe is an artificial increase in price and will be temporarly . Is interesting the jump in price was so fast as the big companies that make these rams all of sudden get into a shortage..... is very strange because these companies have long time road map. At this point is market manipulation like when Trump anounce tarrifs and market crash same i believe is also with the ram is a made up story

Last year I bought 6x 64GB SK Hynix ECC sticks for my server. It cost me £300 in total, they are now going for closer to 400 each.

Fingers crossed that the AI bubble theory is real. If it is and it pops then there is a good chance hardware prices will crash again with it. I guess we'll find out in a few years' time.
