Hi BHW, greate day
Today i wanna discuss about Upwork which become very strange nowdays.
According to news about 2025, which claim that throughout the entire year Upwork blocked freelancers from Ukraine, despite this I personally know many people from other countries — the USA, Canada, France, and others — whose entire businesses were built on Top Rated Upwork accounts!!! And guess what? Even they were blocked — without any clear reason at all!
I seriously want to understand — WHAT THE F(*&* is going on with Upwork????
They act like a monopoly: they allow new freelancers to create accounts, but in order to even pass verification you are forced to buy Connects inside the platform, You spend your money, your time, you carefully build your profile, buy connects, start bidding — and then BOOM!
1–2 days after verification and your first bids — PERMANENT SUSPENSION
No explanation. No transparency. No reasons. NOTHING!
And of course, they refuse to disclose anything, while their “support” is so template-based and useless that dealing with it is absolutely unbearable!!
And it doesn’t end there ofc ahah
I personally know people who face problems rght at the start. For example, with buying Connects, Just a few days ago, one of my employees registered a new account. Immediately, Upwork demanded to add a payment method. He linked a card - error. They asked him to re-link the card. He did. The error didnt disappear!!!
And guess what? He still cannot buy Connects ofc he cant) why not fixed, cause they want like this
Do you think he can submit an appeal?
HAHA — NO CHANCE
There is literally no way to submit an appeal right now
He tried contacting Live Chat — but Upwork’s useless bot will never connect you to a real human agent!!! NEVER!!!
They told him: Your account is new, real-time support is not available.
Funny thing is — when my TOP RATED account got blocked, real-time support was also “not available” HOW CONVENIENT, RIGHT???!!!
And where is the refund for the Connects that were a;redy purchased? Why they just take the money
SERIOUSLY — where is the money? Ofc In their pocket
Doesn’t this look like a monopoly slowly starting to scam simple freelancers?
Although… what scam are we even talking about?
When you register, you agree to their Terms, where it clearly states that they can do WHATEVER THEY WANT, without naming any reasons — and you just shut up and accept it - Amazing, isn’t it??

Oh, and of course — they introduced Account Health what the joy
It doesn’t work properly at all!!! You fix EVERYTHING they ask for — and the issue still doesn’t go away!! Meanwhile, your account risk level shows “normal”.. WHAT IS THE POINT THEN??!!!!
Some guys told me that they want to become like TopTal for only USA market, idk tbh about trust of this info, but looks not good..
So tell me — WHAT’S NEXT???
Is Upwork going to completely turn into a DUMPSTER FIRE?
Or will they finally restore normal, transparent, and adequate operations for freelancers?
