Im like really new to this and havent done much research due to personal things irl but I need to get customers, right now all I have is just the items (Valentino Donna) listed up and I need to get sales. Idk what ads i should buy or how and like how the algorithm even works, I have a singular review but its 5 star and I also have a pretty aged account with a few posts. Need to know how to get custoemrs

First, you need to establish a strong digital infrastructure. Your website should look professional. If your product is a large one, you should create accounts on all platforms (including Pinterest, Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, and Facebook – Facebook is very important, it has a large audience) and post regularly. Then, link to these social media accounts from your website. Trust comes before brand awareness. To this end, buy a few promotional articles, create a "Press Coverage" section, and link to it from all social media platforms, including your website.

The next step is definitely not to spend money immediately. You should try to attract customers with good content on social media.

The issue is its not something I can just advertise, I sell reps so idk if i even did ad it on multiple sites it would be hard and I have no clue on where to look to learn how to on here so

For your product, the marketplace of Meta doesn't help much
Build a page with regular posts, introducing your product with images and reels. Selling through messenger can make conversion higher

For this type of product, Meta is not the optimal platform. You should focus on building a page with regularly updated content, showcasing products through images and short videos. Direct consultation and sales closing via Messenger often results in better conversion rates.

Your Listing Is NOT Being Distributed

Facebook quietly limits Marketplace reach if:

  • Your account is new or inactive
  • You’ve been reported before
  • You post too many items too fast
  • You sell restricted or borderline items

Start with a small message or conversion ad using clear product photos, price, and your 5-star review. Target a narrow interest audience, keep the budget low, and don’t change things too fast so the algorithm can learn.

If you really lack experience, I think you can contact advertising agencies and ask them to run ads for you. Because without knowledge, it's very easy to lose money without getting any results.

Is your price truly competitive?

On the marketplace, price is the deciding factor in attracting customers.
Besides that, you can consider other sales methods such as through a page or advertising to attract more customers.

Build a page with regular posts, showcasing your products with images and short videos. Selling through Messenger with live consultations can help increase conversion rates.

If you're just starting out, you don't need to run ads right away. First, focus on optimizing your platform:
Clear, beautiful product photos, and real videos.
A concise description: target audience, product materials, etc.
Regarding algorithms: a platform with natural interaction (views, saves, comments). Subscribe regularly, use relevant hashtags, and respond to comments quickly.
Once you have more interaction, you can run ads (increase visibility/posts) to test it out first, without needing a large budget. Gradually increase the budget if it's effective, then scale up later.
The most important thing right now is to use real content, prioritizing videos of your products.

Your listing is NOT being pushed (shadow-limited)

This is very common.

Symptoms

  • Views stuck under 20–50
  • No messages at all
  • Reposting doesn’t help

Why it happens

  • New account or low trust
  • Too many posts in short time
  • Copy-paste descriptions
  • Deleted & reposted same item repeatedly

✅ Fix

  • Use a real, aged Facebook profile
  • Stop deleting/reposting daily
  • Post 1–3 items per day max

targeting interests like luxury fashion/perfume buyers. The algorithm learns from purchases and clicks over time, so keep budgets small, test one ad first, and optimize from there.

An important note is to invest in 'healthy' advertising accounts. Using accounts with a clean history and high credibility will help you avoid unwarranted account suspensions, allow algorithms to learn faster, and deliver ads to the right target audience most effectively.

I think you should first grow your page organically by posting content regularly and using Messenger to close deals, as it will be more effective than advertising on Marketplace.

My brother also tried targeting audiences like fashion/household goods buyers. The algorithm learns from purchases and clicks over time, so keep your budget small, experiment and duplicate your ads, and optimize from there.
